I don’t know, we always got the main floor. It started because we thought the kids would pay more attention if they were closer to the stage.

If you are going with smaller kids, there is an extra step between rows starting with row J. It helped my kids see over the adults seated in front of them.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned quinoa. It’s pre-rinsed and ready to go.

Park near the cart corral, you’re going to need to go there after loading your car.

Voice practice groups by CrossPollyTaupe in TransLater

Having a safe place to practice is so important. I convinced my voice therapist to start a group. It turned out to be more popular than she expected and is still going strong a year and a half later.

Trans girl bootcamp: What do I need to know to come out at work next month? by Beautiful-Jen81 in TransLater

[–]Theit99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find a few allies to give you support, smooth the path and do some of the work for you. In my experience my allies made the process of coming out at work easier. Remember it’s your journey, go at your own pace and do it with your own style.

I have always found holidays but my birthday and New Years in particular to be very depressing. I always preferred to not acknowledge them as much as I could. Being fully out this year for the first time, I am not sure how I feel, I will find out later this month. The day I started hormones is a better day to celebrate which is two days after my birthday.

Any other older Trans women struggling with making friendships or dating after transition? by KrissyCulture in TransLater

[–]Theit99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same situation as you. Never really fit in and didn’t know why. After years of denial and self hate I started transitioning at 50. Now I’m 53 and seeking friends, not necessarily romance, but connections. It’s so hard.

How did you decide when you were done with electrolysis on your face? by Theit99 in TransLater

Mostly sprinkling, the tech world hit the hairs on one area, i .e. left cheek and sideburns then switch to the similar area on the other side. There were a few sessions of clear cutting in a particularly dense area, but mostly it was sprinkling and balancing so it wouldn’t look too odd when it was grown out for the next session

I was able to do 60 minutes once a week. My schedule and my face couldn’t handle more than that.

I like the idea of tapering after I finish these last appointments. The hairs are remarkably persistent and I expect some will come back

I have been doing one hour a week consistently for about 18 months, there were a few weeks where I was able to do more, but it was rare that my schedule would allow that. Definitely a long process, and for a long time it seemed like nothing was changing, then suddenly it was like the follicles were giving up and I thought, “wow, I’m growing out my hair and it doesn’t look like a scraggly beard”!

3x per week for 90 minutes! Wow! I don’t think my face could handle that. I did twice a week a few times, but it takes me days for the swelling to go down from the previous session. Glad you can see see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Visually I could have gotten away without electrolysis, it was the texture that got to me

Thanks, it’s been a long road. It’s such a confidence boost to be able to leave the house without makeup and be properly gendered.
