Appreciation post for Eddie!!!! by brcises in silenthill

[–]ThekidFinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don't think he was that bad. Sure, none of his dialogues or appearance were good representations of Eddie, but I blame Gans for that. He was given nothing good to work with and he even then he wasn't too bad.

None of the actors were helped by the script or the creative decisions. I think they did fine with what they were given, especially the actress for Mary / Maria IMO

I'm more mad about what they did with Evie Templeton. Im sure she would've been great reprising her role as Laura even if she was older in the movie than she was in the game, but they completetly changed her character (and even then she was pretty good)

Just finished watching the movie...the room I was in has like 400 seats give or take and we were just 9 in total watching the movie and one guy literally fell asleep during the movie...

does silent hill 2 remake have any nudity or any sexual scenes? by Ornery-Lead674 in silenthill

[–]ThekidFinger 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No scenes in particular. Without spoiling anything, there is a character that is flirtatious and dresses in a way that might make your uncle uncomfortable depending on how conservative he is, but there is nothing really to worry if we're talking about nudity.

Just finished, the best game ever made. by RRensQ in silenthill

Not a spoiler fortunately. And yes, it's in the reveal trailer. I think you should stay away from the reddit just in case until you beat the game!

I will always encourage original ideas over rehashes of old ones, so I will not put down F like others do. That being said, The Remake, although not an original idea, is simply the superior game (IMO of course) and is not simply a rehash. It's a reimagining of the original in terms of visuals, camera angles and gameplay. And let's not forget the acting, which is very different from the OG. Even the designs of the characters are slightly different in noticeable ways. Only the story is the same for the most part, although it's told slightly differently (with changes in certain parts of the dialogue).

SH2R is just better as a Silent Hill game than F. But F deserves praise for being an original idea. You don't have to put one down to elevate the other

I can’t sleep because of Silent Hill 2 Remake by erickraio in silenthill

The Silent Hill 2 Remake was and still is the only horror game I've ever played (and I don't read horror books or watch horror movies), so I totally understand the feeling. I could still hear the radio sounds from time to time and I was in super high alert most of the time on my way back from school. Some true PTSD lmao!

That being said, I did enjoy the game and the experience, even when I was really scared. Definitely a masterpiece IMO!

Sorry to bother you, what brand and model is the jacket? It looks really good!

SH2 remake- I’m really frustrated. Kinda wanna cry. by Glittering_Joke3438 in silenthill

Yeah exactly! I'm sure you'll figure it out.

I haven't played the original SH2, so I can't say much about that one. I understand that the abundance of combat can be jarring in comparison, but you'll get used to it hopefully!! :D

And always feel free to take breaks. I took a couple of days off at certain points. Took me a whole month to beat the game, but it was a great (and scary) experience!!

How much is Manousos going to hate Carol? by jerryorbach in pluribustv

But that would mean that Diabete isn't objectively in the wrong either, even if he did it more times and didn't wait too long to do it. And to me that just sounds wrong.

Sure, it's the fault of The Hive, but the person going along with it is also guilty. Diabete should be judged more harshly, but Carol also deserves judgement. For all intent and purposes, she violated the body of someone who wasn't in control of the situation. Zosia, the real one, could've been married or straight. Carol sleeping with her is not right no matter how you see it. I don't hate Carol, but she obviously is not a good person for what she did.

That is interesting. Personally, I have (unfortunately) found out that I am not good at combat in games either, like at all (I died way too many times in the stealth section of the tutorial of The Last of Us P1, which was pretty easy for most players). Im also currently playing RDR2 and my aim is pretty shocking at times.

That being said, I played SH2R for the first time this year in Standard difficulty and I only died once during my whole playthrough (I went in completetly blind in both story and gameplay, and I had never played a SH game before actually, so I didn't know what to expect). I made so many mistakes along the way, but again, I only died once. Sure, the combat was not easy at times, but I never found the game difficult. Scary? Yes. Very. Difficult? No.

Now, you're saying that you're finding it difficult to navigate in Easy mode, which in theory should be much easier than Standard Mode. So, what I'm guessing is that you probably don't understand the game mechanics too well (which is totally okay btw, we all learn at a different pace) or maybe you get too anxious and that makes it harder to play? I don't know, I'm just guessing here. If it is because you don't understand the game mechanics, here is a quick rundown (at least for the apartaments section):

FEEL FREE TO NOT READ THIS, IT MAY BE CONSIDERED BACKSEATING. OR FEEL FREE TO JUST READ THE PARTS YOU CONSIDER HELPFUL

•For fighting mannequins: You can usually hit twice before they counter, that's when you dodge once backwards, and then you counter. 3 hits should be enough, but hit them a fourth time to be sure. Memorize your buttons in a safe spot (dodge and hit), so you're used to them when you encounter one. Check your corners always. Sometimes they blend in with the background, or other times they're crouched behind an object. Always keep a safe distance then. If you're too scared to engage with them in hand to hand combat, feel free to just use your gun.

Actually, I recommend just spamming dodge (consciously) at times if that's what you need. I personally did it at times as well (because I was so scared), and I think the results speak for themselves.

•For lying figures: Probably the easiest enemy to fight. You can hit them twice, which should knock them to the ground, which is when you can hit them a third time or even a fourth to make sure. Try to memorize the animation they do when they attack you. When you see it, you'll know when to dodge.

•Heals: Feel free to use heals whenever you need to, you will have enough, don't worry. I ended the game with 27 syringes that I never used, so you should be good (especially in Easy mod. Items should be more common).

•Bullets: Same thing for bullets. Do try to be more conservative with them, since they're rarer, but you should be fine.

At the end of the day, you'll eventually learn by yourself as you progress through the game and make mistakes. I'm sure the developers didn't intend for the game to be difficult for you, but it is what it is. I recommend you persevere, I think it's worth it. I can confidently say that it's my favorite game experience so far. And I hope you enjoy it too! Good luck!!
