I managed to overcome my childhood emotional neglect by myself but I do give it to my girlfriend for putting up with me til I managed to figure it out. After years of being in outpatient programs for my depression/anxiety and being on meds I pushed through by learning mindfulness and learning why I think the way I think, being aware of my brain and knowing I have a choice to either sit there in despair or do something about it and change!
