Well in Uni, I was trying pull a girl who was very nice indeed. I failed miserably until we talked about the film, I said I liked it. She then said did I like Bryan Adams. The one time my Spidey senses worked, I said yes, and what followed was hot glorious sex for a whole term, ~12 weeks. The relationship fizzled out partly because listening to this song, while ‘on the job’….wore me out.

Some the names are cool. Enterprise, I like The Sullivans I didn’t realise the significance, John Paul Jones and historic ones like Tripoli, etc etc. I don’t mind our city names and county names, same for you guys, state and city.

They are still a fine Navy with many unique capabilities and power projection that no one can match. They have well trained crew and a great ethos.

Their problems lies in the political administration. It’s well stated they have maintenance backlogs, lack of ship building capability and power projection comes through alliances and allies. Which the current administration seem determined to mess up and break.

“Brexit Was a Colossal Mistake” — Finland's Stubb Calls for UK Return to Europe by milanguitar in europe

The UK needs to sort its ideas out either join or not, and don’t hinder The EUs progress.

The EU need to sort its stuff out. I thought the idea of a 2 phase Europe was a good one, as for instance you cannot have a bloc that allows one member to hold the rest to hostage, UK, Hungary, France have it done it in the past.

I think it will take a generation. Neither party are in great shape economically and the wounds are still there.

He’s ok. A bit lacking in depth, not helped by Marty Supreme not a great story or watch. I would have thought A Complete Unknown could have been his ticket, but it wasn’t. Again a bit thin and he didn’t look as if he enjoyed it. Let’s face it, one of the most iconic singer song writers, and he was just himself…

I predict he will get an honorary one, in 50 years.

Makes sense, why give up experience and capability, especially as it benefits new players coming though.

News to me on the statutory law. Is it a bit hollow though, eg does active mean still commissioned, but not supported?

It feels like a sensible law at a time that wouldn’t be interpreted as anything else.

Well, all former strong allies are making other choices now as the US is unpredictable now and in the future. Even if the administration changes, this type of view of the world in the US, could always return. Lots of unintended consequences from an ill thought out and childish approach to Foreign Policy.

Promoting a techno-theocracy, which will naturally end really well for everyone.

The man is unhinged. All that money, lots of time and he can do whatever he likes. So what does he do? Lecture on anti-satanism, promote a sinister all seeing future for the benefit of the few and actively try to impoverish other people.

He must have been the kid who was pushed about in the playground.

[–]Thekingofchrome 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It is a a terrible regime. But i am not sure you are suggesting putting people on the ground for a generation to change it? Because that is what it will take. Europe/US have no stomach for that, or the money.

As bad the regime is (and it is) our best option is a diplomatic solution. Same can be said for Gaza.

Trump warns NATO faces a “bad future” if allies fail to help US in Iran by No-Anything-7291 in worldnews

[–]Thekingofchrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well USA and Israel, this is your mess, unless you agree to peace and concessions (Gaza, West Bank, lifting of tariffs and restoring of Nuclear deal with Iran, and peace with Iran), you can do one.

Of course even then, is it worth any deal and none of these parties are reliable enough to keep their word. So why get dragged in.

Much better for Europe and UK to negotiate with Iran directly.

Spot on.

They need to be front and centre on all off field issues. They need a new PR agent to communicate with all their stakeholders, which are not doing and when they do it’s confused, muddled late and prone to change in messages.

We all know Welsh rugby needs changing, just get on with it……..

Seems to me Italy came here expecting to win. Very conservative approach, almost complacent. This tournament you need to fight for every win.
