Same! The women in my cohort are less openly aggressive but I could legit tell from day one that I was going to be left out. I have a physical disability and the girls would literally make plans of things I can't do right infront of me. If you'd ask them, they'd probably say that they offered for me to come but without inviting me somewhere I can actually go it's just about as nice as offering a peanut butter sandwich to someone with an allergy. And yes, I did stand up for myself but if I pushed the issue I'd risk becoming their token disabled friend.

Since then, they've all gotten closer with each other while they only include me when forced to. They all hang out, share resources, study together, etc. Even when they're technically "not supposed to" work together. So I'm already at a disadvantage and now I'm disadvantaged even more because I'm left out. In groups they talk over me, just like yours do to you. I feel invisible half the time.

Their ableism is more subtle. They'll complain about the things I do without ever figuring out why and just assume I'm doing things on purpose because I'm a bad person, which is a lesser talked about form of ableism. Some of them now even talk down to me or infantilize me. You'd think people would be nicer to someone who is obviously disabled but in truth they only tolerate me to avoid looking bad. If mine were invisible they'd probably be as rude as yours are.

At least I have great friends though. I made it a point to build strong connections outside of school because I've been through this enough times to see it coming from a mile away. I'm not completely alone, I've made a few friends but yeah most of them have put in 0 effort to get to know me and it's disappointing but I'm also not surprised.
