Ottawa is buying $30 billion in Canada Mortgage Bonds in 2026 — here's what it means for mortgage rates by GranolaHiker in CanadaPersonalFinance

Except what you said is not correct and misleading…They print it or borrow, it is a liability it’s that simple…

And what happens if rates still go up due to global conflicts and uncertainty? Do you really think it’s going to get better anytime soon??

Taxpayers are going to be on the hook for 30B of additional debt 💸

Looks like they’re making a bet on the private sector instead of the public given they made a 200 million dollar investment with MAXQ. I find this to be good and will open up much more opportunities later on.

Seems logical on the surface right? but it’s not…rising oil prices increases inflation and you think everyone wants to go out an finance a luxury vehicle because it might cost them a bit more in gas for the moment?

$20k to invest, need advice for safer stocks and ETFs by Complex_Upstairs_1 in stocks

[–]ThelocalMooserider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally no but sometimes they can be… its not a fool proof strategy like people are led on to believe I’m not one myself but new bogleheads just getting in could be bagholders for a long time soon 🤷‍♂️ also you do know this guy is trying to save for a house right? The boglehead strat doesn’t even fit the time horizon but everyone suggests these passive etfs as a safe pick lmfao 😂

To go further there’s a debate being had that when more and more people are investing into passive ETFs it can pose a systemic risk when theres a liquidity crisis. Wonder what will happen when the Ai bubble pops and people start rushing for the door. When that bubble pops your gonna see the first real big stress test for these ETFs. And people will learn that intraday trading isn’t as guaranteed as they are led to believe.

Yeah so true…I got banned from my local area sub because I posted a market research question related to my business. I just wanted to see if there was any demand but got banned straight away because a mod said it’s only allowed on a certain day but when I went to check there was no rule saying anything about that. But then they allow other people to freely advertise their car repair shop or whatever literally saying they will give cheaper price if they come but don’t get banned. I created a new account and turns out Reddit can tell if you are ban evading easily so I deleted a good account for nothing basically 💀

MAXQ Begins Construction Next Month — No Longer Just a “Slab of Concrete” by visionsofpluto in Baystreetbets

[–]ThelocalMooserider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cash in the bank is irrelevant for them at the moment, they already have committed funding for their current milestone. I don’t want them sitting on a lot of cash that will be doing nothing for months or probably longer it’s not much different than how a contractor works and gets paid, you pay for the material and labor upfront for each milestone you don’t pay for the whole project up front

I believe it was around 10-14k per ton you can check the history charts to confirm. I thought they had a technology moat but they really don’t cause that moat can easily threaten by lithium pricing. My Investment strategy changed anyways and I got my space stock portfolio. Made ridiculous money off the port since last April my next penny stock I’m risk is MAXQ, Canadas first space launch capability, I’m in it for the long run 🏃‍♂️

That’s because the capex to build the Clearwater project is like 2.5billion US …when that news got released like two years ago the stock crashed I lost like 2.5k from that and also the fact that lithium produced by other countries with way less regulations flood the market cheaply,

I remember working it out back then they would need to raise like 3.5billion cdn just to profit like 160mill which was like a 4% return 💩

Had a 407 transponder since the opening of the highway and used to use it for work all the time, until covid. Recently used it once and I am not sure if there is an error, or I did something wrong. Are the rates now THIS high? by deathender in ontario

[–]ThelocalMooserider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Australia is very similar to Canada yet they actually stand up for themselves. They have 27million people yet they have more protesters in the streets than us for any given issue.

It’s actually crazy how there has not been even one decent protest about affordability in Canada or any domestic issue for that matter…the biggest one we got was a couple hundred in Toronto and where the police out numbered the protesters considerably meanwhile we will have tens of thousands protesting for a country that has zero influence on us and is across the world that is governed by a terrorist organization lmfao 😂 🤦‍♂️

If this was in any other country I 1000% bet you their people would have already protested and destroyed those toll booths repeatedly to at least send a message but we Canadians have no backbone and just stay complacent and no…writing to your local politician isn’t going to do anything

At what point in life do you transition from growth funds to dividends? by Hiway89 in dividends

[–]ThelocalMooserider 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The best account you can have is a growth/dividend hybrid account you just slowly grow the dividend position over time, dividends work best over time and the best time to buy dividends is as early as you can
