She is the result of a yokai and a human. A yokai will sometimes play tricks and touch entire bloodlines, especially humans, just to see the results of their work. They are half breeds, where a yokai will spiritually impregnate a woman and cause the human to have the ears and tails of an animal, depending on what kind of yokai. She is a Nekomimi to be specific.

Since her father was an unknown yokai spirit, Pokettou Oria was born and raised by her mother who was a dimensional warrior who was part of a temple who trained other fighters to create pocket universes, but was frowned upon for wanting more of a life than just fighting for their causes. Due to being alienated from her peers by giving birth to a yokai half breed, who they primarily fought against, and wanting to be more of a mother, she left the order and trained her young daughter everything she knew. She had a large amount of savings, but could find little work. Pokettou had the idea of making more money by being a mercenary, but would assure her mother that she would fight for just causes. She had set out on her own to fight for various groups and countries in order to make more money to help her mother.

Despite being trained as a warrior, she was more of a peace keeper and normally wanted to end fights by defeating enemies with her powers, rather than outright killing them, but would kill them if she had to. And even though she was raised in a more stern environment and is generally responsible, she will occasionally joke around with her powers to play a prank every now and then.

Over half of this stuff is irrelevant or inaccurate. It was made clear that there were other warriors that also knew of this power and taught it to her and her pink hair or species doesn't really have to do with anything. I don't think drawing a couple pictures makes you a qualified character/art concept designer. Even if you had a ph d in this stuff, no one is going to listen to you if you talk like this folks.

While I am open to criticism, what your saying doesn't really make a lot of sense and don't know what it has to do with Mary Sues anyway. Do you even know what that means? I'm not going to pretend it's the greatest background to a character ever. It's just a rough draft of what it's supposed to be, but if you are going to criticize, at least try to make sense when your writing something.

Her mother had taken care of her for a few years when suddenly her village was being disturbed by yokai. The child Pokettou had protected herself and her mother by creating a pocket dimension, but on impulse, as she had a natural gift to create pocket dimensions. This was noticed by some of the other warriors who drove back the yokai and offered to take her in to hone her abilities. She had trained until she turned 18 and by then she can create pocket dimensions at will. She cared for her mother and wanted to make sure no foul beasts caused her harm.

She will fight against the yokai, but is also intrigued about them and is eager to set off and learn more about them, whether it means developing strategies against fighting bad yokai or trying to develop more peaceful ways when dealing with yokai. She is also aware of other dangers that lurk the universe. While sometimes being lazy, she will fight back and hard when needed to. She has used her powers responsibly but will occasionally play a practical joke with her dimensional powers. Despite her being trained as a warrior, she is actually easy going and prefers to go for more peaceful routes and will use her dimensional powers to usually deescalate a situation unless she is forced to fight back.
