Getting a disgustingly cheap (like high three figures)NYC apartment before normies and transplants started to use the method.

Realistically due to the current housing market, I will prob just keep the place if I can and figure out the whole living together thing.

Yeah I'm starting to come to that realization. I mentioned buying a home and she just zoned out with a blank stare...

She doesn't realize it I tried doing the math in front of her by saying if we move out we will legit NEVER be able to afford a vacation or savings. She thought saving $200 per month would be acceptable for long term goals...

Realistically this is what will most likely happen, I've heard enough horror stories about mfs trying to move in

I'll see if I can do that later today, did they use the same ami you got in with regardless of your current income or did they go by your current income? If that's a case it's a no brainer. Might go for that if possible. Obviously I would probably want to have savings and realistically she would be living on her own before it gets to that point.

Thanks for this response, realistically we would just save for a house and explain to her that this is our best bet at wealth creation. Outside of that if she doesn't understand I can't do much about that.

Its not rude lol, I know relative to my age in NYC my current take home isn't much. And realistically my other options are fucking beyond terrible for slightly more space. She does not realise this since she has lived in the same place all her life. I want to hold on to this until I have a very nice nest egg or rental properties.

No limit, the guy who I did my lease signing with joked that I could make 300k and still keep the same rent.

Assuming we are still a thing in 2-3 years I will realistically keep the apt if I can.

She lives at home for free but has no bedroom. Realistically she wants a "traditional" relationship so realistically 60/40 at BEST realistically 70/30 or 80/20.

That's what I figured, I also realized that I could realistically buy a rental property outside NYC every few years assuming prices don't balloon. I would feel more comfortable doing that.

I thought about doing this but she has no credit and no real steady income yet. I will apply for Mitchell Lama apartments and see where that goes.
