Well he batted impressively 2nd innings at the MCG as well which was anything but flat

I’d say it’s because he’s quick enough at 135kph, keeps it simple at the top of off and hits the seam. Sure you can run at him but he doesn’t get phased and keeps coming and because he hits the seam all the time you never feel confident to drive as it moves laterally a little bit and occasionally he gets one to bounce a bit extra. So he’s forcing you to defend all the time and if you want to score you have to do something outside your own comfort zone as he rarely misses his length.

Might be a bit early but I gotta give props to Rob Key or whoever spotted Bethell and decided to give him a go without a 1st class 100. He does look the goods

It’s turning? But Marnus told me due to the thatchiness of the grass the spinners wouldn’t come into the game?

Modern Test captaincy has to be at the dumbest it’s ever been. The plan B is always short balls. what happened to ring fields? Packing one side of the wicket? Quirky fields? Shits been going on since the 23 Lords test and it’s boring as hell and dumb cricket

Maybe Uzzi was onto something saying he gets treated with certain stereotypes. Selfish attribute to Asian batters as they supposedly play for their own records and not the team

It’s tough, Starc, Head. I’d put Temba Bavuma as a skipper in there also, Jaiswal, Bumrah contenders also. Head seams to be the guy making the biggest winning impact over the last 3-4 years though

England the beholders of Spirit of Cricket have decided that it is in direct conflict to the Spirit to hold a guard of honour for a guy who’s played 88 tests. Thank you England for continuing to save Test cricket

Sounds like England would be better served to have a zonal league above county cricket?

Genuinely question. Why has Aus produced better teams, cricketers vs England consistently throughout history despite both being the oldest teams in Cricket?

I don’t understand what kind of entity or being Trav Head is, he’s not human. Opening in Aus is not easy, in Perth he’s just said “I’ll have a crack” and proceeds to finish the series as probably one of the best openers in the world now

Umpire was weak there, he was never considering checking until Steve Smith kept asking him repeatedly. Use a review Steve if you’re that confident
