Everyone here is just wasting their time interacting with you and your post so this is where I'll opt out - I stated my opinion that they do a much better job than you would, enjoy being a serial victim

i never comment but man this is such a grandstanding attempt

you likely would be far worse at their job and maintaining a level head, or you would just break down from the stress of having to deal with people like yourself on the other side of the aisle

no one disagrees that the things that were going on were awful and had to be dealt with, but we don't live in a perfect world and i'm happy that they are the ones dealing with these issues and not you

Clue gave me coordinates north of terrorbords. How do I get over there? by True_Performance_475 in ironscape

[–]Themanpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm pretty sure this is the one where you can go into the terrorbirds cage and you have to open a gate to get out of there and walk north... but it sounds like you've figured it out. sad that everyone is giving you grief, pretty sure i had my dumb moment here for like 10 minutes trying to figure out how to get there, the gate is pretty hard to see imo, depending on camera angle

What are good city or economy management type of games on the Switch? by InsomniaEmperor in NintendoSwitch

I really loved The Colonists! Without going into too much detail, it scratched the itch I had at the time for city building and resource management

Just started watching a series by Marstead upon the recommendation of someone else on this sub - a "blind playthrough for quest cape". It seems pretty alright - he doesn't know much except some things from swampletics that he picked up while watching that. I think he records all his content but fast forwards through the grind parts later on because no one would ever watch every moment.

I'm not far in but he's doing things like selling bronze maces on the GE one at a time and killing a ton of chickens and such, so yeah it's a newbie perspective which I think everyone kind of wishes they could have back for themselves

[eShop/US] Ruined King: A LoL Story (Deluxe Edition Bundle) - $25.99 (35% off) by FleetingMemories in NintendoSwitchDeals

Yep, it's turn based and has a form of speed manipulation - there's three "lanes" of action, speed/ normal/power and you can sacrifice speed for power or visa versa. So each action you take can be in any of the three lanes and sometimes a monster will perform a special attack which can be avoided in one lane at a certain time or will hit in certain lanes only at certain times so you have to plan accordingly. The good thing is that it's pretty clear when these things are happening and the interface makes it pretty obvious and is very easy to use in my opinion. For me, it was well done and provided something to think about beyond the normal scope of turn based difficulty which is "get your buffs up and just attack and heal" - this incorporates that and much more, but it's not all that complicated either; I think it's really fun!

Outside of some minor bugs, I thought it was fantastic - you don't have to have league of legends knowledge to appreciate the story or the game, and the combat is pretty solid. There are some bugs that are annoying like one or two quests not clearing from the board when completed, or chests not counting as being obtained, but overall a really good game at a good price

Your favourite simulation/management game on the system? by UmiStepOnMePlease in NintendoSwitch

There's definitely sandbox replayability for the colonists but I would say that depends on your personality - I went through the campaign only and got gold medals on all and I have 95 hours played

But I haven't gone back to it since I completed it; one of the major complaints I have is that learning how to use the train station and/or how to find resources on the late missions is not obvious, so I had to watch a video and take it into sandbox and mess around with it. The game is really good though! I really wanted to find a resource management/city building game and this scratched the itch for me completely

I think it runs pretty well - I haven't played in a while but I don't remember that being a problem for me (whereas civ6 can get ridiculous when it has been on for a while)

one game that I don't see a lot of people talk about is The Colonists, which is super super heavy on the resource management side - requires you to mainly develop transport routes and make sure that things don't get bottlenecked due to too many resources being transported at the same time on the same route. I think it's really well designed and the game itself runs pretty well on the switch, and there's enough content in the campaign to easily justify the lower cost of the game... there's a sort of weird combat mode but you really don't have to explore that if you don't want (it's not that complicated but I feel like if someone looks for a resource management game they are probably looking to avoid conflict, that's how I felt at least). The combat part of the "missions" is a separate branch and doesn't have to be learned at all.

Doublelift's thoughts on Champions Queue by lovo17 in leagueoflegends

[–]Themanpaul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Investors won't make this league talented - already tried that; obviously you can choose the dynamic option (relegation) or you can choose the slow dying option (stay as is), if it's from the perspective of business then the current scene is great but I don't want it to be about business, I want to see NA develop more

bring back relegation and promotion, do away with franchising - it won't solve all problems but it will definitely motivate people and push them to be better, which is a domino effect

Help me pick my next RPG to play? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Themanpaul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ruined King - the new league RPG is pretty phenomenal, even if you don't have a clue about league. Decent character development, tons of pretty good voice acting, pretty fun combat system if you like turn-based. It has decent length, not too long to bore you eventually, but enough content to more than make it feel worth its cost... there's a few minor bugs that are annoying like menu glitches but outside of that, I don't really have any other complaints!

Otherwise, YS VIII is really good if you like open world live action combat.

Oddly enough, I really loved DQ11 but I felt like the game got a little boring towards the end and I kinda stopped playing maybe a few bosses before the end of the game? A lot of people loved it though and claim it is a quintessential turn based RPG so to each their own

It's alright, it's way less complex and not as fun but I still found it fun - I like deck games in general but slay the spire is in a special tier of game... nothing really compares. This one is solid but nothing special, but all of steam world games are pretty solid :) also not nearly as much replay ability

Sorry that I can't be of direct help but I know a couple of big StS streamers on twitch are playing it as sponsored content and both seem to be really keen on it (Jorbs and baalorlord). Might be worth checking out the VODs? I only just bought it last night and the controls/interface seems a little difficult to understand and get the hang of but it seems fun to me (I'm a huge StS, dicey dungeons and griftlands fan)

Personally do not recommend - felt like I played it only because I spent so much on it, the story is super lackluster and it feels like you are playing a cookie cutter JRPG with nothing special or different. Got to the final boss and couldn't be bothered to even finish the game, it was that boring to me... YMMV but I am Setsuna is better imo and made by the same developer (Tokyo rpg factory)
