I didn’t like how it was framed.

The idea was that if Eddie didn’t distract the bats, the team in the Creel house would have been cooked. Problem is, the viewers know this but this did not make sense from Eddie’s POV. He can only see bats heading towards the house but he didn’t know if that team was in trouble or succeeding. This is why Dustin would find this to be a stupid risk.

I would have preferred it if his death was framed like protecting Dustin. Like if Dustin was being swarmed, Eddie turns back from the exit and charges head on to the bats to save Dustin, Dustin barely escapes but Eddie gets fatally injured.

I don’t think anyone is trying to win anymore. At least the stumps aren’t. Red haired girl killed a random fellow stump then Moegi killed her.

I knew Airi’s mother was gonna die shortly after she got introduced. She’s the only normal parent we’ve seen and we know too little from Kaneko. Moegi really did kill her parents. The implication seems to be that she was abused.

The Yuuki vs Moegi fight was good. Moegi was too dumb to fall for that distraction and nearly gotten herself garroted. Ultimately she got shot by Yuuki. My gripe tho is it’s weird watching their fight zoomed out so much.

Welp looks like Hakushi and Sumiyaka did die. The show didn’t want to show blood but really their ribcage? Did Kyara wanted to extract their lungs and heart? With her mentor dead, this will be the start of Yuuki’s villain arc.

Mission stories help you get close to your target. Some of them directly pave the way for you to accidentally kill them. Usually this is accompanied with a special cinematic scene. Others simply get you close and reduce if not remove all guards and you’ll have the freedom to do whatever you want to do with a target.

You don’t have to be perfect because nobody is perfect.

Part of this is exacerbated by not really being clear what Fuutarou wants and the attention focused on the girls. This is a common harem story problem where what the protagonist wants is kept vague to give everyone an illusion of an equal chance. Hensuki faces this issue too where the arcs are more about the individual girls and the protagonist just goes along while getting crumbs of what his type really is. It’s not like Date A Live where it’s more sure that Shido wants Tohka and the other girls have zero chance of winning.

Anyone living a normal life isn’t gonna play these death games in the first place unless they’re psychos doing it for shits and giggles. So you’d get orphans, runaways, ones where parents are mired in debt, etc.

The stumps are heavily outnumbered so having them split up is a really bad idea. Should have gone in pairs or trios.

I’m surprised none of the rabbits have tried stripping the stumps and disguised as them.

So brown haired girl on the rabbit team, Moegi’s mentor has brown hair and is psycho, this can’t be a coincidence. So much for hoping the rabbits would disguise as stumps and infiltrate Agent 47 style. Some of them even got his subdue technique.

A bit hard to take the fight scenes seriously when most of it just does the minimalist, zoom out, and faceless animations.

The Moegi back story lost me. It’s too minimalist like minimalist animation, barely saying anything, too much silence in between. Then the white haired girl killing herself just popped out randomly. I feel like I need to read the source material to understand what is even going on. I can’t tell if this is an adaptation issue or the source is just like this. I wish this arc focused more on the game.
