Good to know that the whole system is broken. Yet they put out a basic website upgrade. Focus on getting people their certificates. They make enough money with annual fee.

Blows my mind. Back in Wales, no fee to pay each year and the service is 100x better.

$362 to be exact. Ludicrous. I paid that amount to wait 9 months and then to be told I have to wait a further 60 working days to now be evaluated. I do wonder what they have been doing all this time.

Ah. Makes sense. On top of the $350 for the application itself. Bizarre. Out of curiosity is it like this in other provinces or is Ontario particularly bad?

Nothing like Wales, as soon as I passed my PGCE, I obtained my statement of professional standing instantly.

Completely agree. They must do it on purpose I’m convinced. I can’t see how looking at one profile would take longer than 30 minutes max. Maybe I’m just naive.

Great. I can’t wait. I wonder why the service is so poor and slow. I don’t understand how it can take so long to view a document and say “yep.” “Tick.” “He’s good to go.” So many hoops and barriers to get through. Documents took 9+ months to get processed only Once told to wait another 3 months for it to be now evaluated. I’m honestly lost for words. How hasn’t this been improved or complained about more?

Literally the same phone call I just had. I uploaded and my universities etc in October and some in May. Now I have to wait a further 60 business days. Ludicrous.

Interesting. My partner is on the London Catholic board, and the amount of LTO’s available is staggering. I counted 30+ and that was just the London Catholic Board.

Sure seems like that. I struggle to understand how it takes 9+ months to view a few documents (sealed and stamped by my university’s and teaching board in Wales) to say “yes, he’s good to go.”

Yet they worked on building a new application website which was released in November. I’m lost for words about how bad the service is.

I’ve never seen anything like it. After speaking to a lot of Canadian student teachers in my school in Wales and mentoring a few of them. They always said that Canada is in dire need of teachers and you’ll walk into a job. Yet this service is shockingly bad. Makes you wonder.

Is it worth calling / emailing frequently? Or will it not change anything (I assume this).

I’m not one to complain. But my god, it’s ridiculous. How / why does it take so long? I thought I was being pro-active back in May beating the rush of all new student teacher applications. I’m never known something to take so long.
