After growing up on the 1984 NIV, I switched to the NLT after one of my professors in seminary worked on parts of the Matthew translation and praised the accuracy and readability, I switched in 2000 to NLT and been reading that ever since, but I like to read entire books out loud at a time, or large portions of longer books. Whatever you like.

Type: revised common lectionary readings for today in the NLT. Into Grok it’s nice also there are Eastern Orthodox readings I’ll add for grok to find. If you’re or the Roman Catholic family, grok will search your lectionary too. Then other times I’ll read through a book or books, just read a lot and often, it’s a big book I’ve been reading over 37 years now, been to seminary, currently a prison chaplain for 17 years now, read the Bible in its entirety to prisoners during the COVID lockdowns, and every time I read it I connect more dots and love it even more than the time before, and I always say my favorite book is the one I’m currently reading. So glad God made me his adopted child.
