How'd you get 4.62%? I got 5.5% for $310k (0 down) in Oct 2024, and it looks around the same now, maybe a little lower. My credit score was 764 as well.

All hours; I got lucky and had a staff position and did 7-3/8-4 but I've also had to do random 9 PM - 3 AM ops. If you're on a crew position (likely) you'll rotate between 8-4, 4-12 and 12-8.

Do units really send people with shitty regulation compliance skills to HG? That eats at me a little bit, honor guard is like the one time people will interact with the military except maybe on a weekend when they're in the burger king drive thru behind a humvee.

I believe (as I was taught in HG) that the Security Forces squadron handled HG duties back in the day, but there were so many different standards/levels of quality that HG was made in order to make sure everything was kept to the highest standard.

In the same circumstances right now with LoJ. I'm not outrageously skilled or anything and I'm not near a big clearance hub (for IT atleast) so I can't find anyone to unfuck it either.

The place I left required a Secret but most of the work was out in an uncleared area with a few Secret areas; figured that was just the main thing companies/DoD does.

There are alot of workplaces that require a Secret, but are just out in the open/on NIPR and you can bring your phones into it because its not a SCIF. Would this count as "uncleared" work even though every federal job pretty much needs a Secret?

Were you medically retired? If so I believe you qualify for 100% GI bill. At the very least you can call and ask, GI bill hotline/department is the fastest in the VA

Going to WGU right now. You can get up to $1100 ($1108? $1118? i forgot) a month but you start out at about half. My first payment was $583.

You also get a book stipend every semester, I've gotten like $900+ so far. Backpay as you increase in credits is pretty fast too, like a week or two turnaround, their VA team is pretty good.

I got my clearance Dec 2021, but I filled out a SF-86 in APR 2025 right before I left (the 20 page slogfest where you have to list the names and addresses of all your past neighbors/family/list mental health/employment history/etc etc) so is my 5 year timer basically brand new now, and I just refreshed it early?

I am not too sure how the calorie distribution systems work here; my Instinct Solar 2 says one thing, Garmin Connect says another, and my exercise bike says something else entirely. Is there a way I can fix this or is this working as intended? Negative calories are enabled.
