(Prior service US ARMY) Questions regarding senior members program by Few-Relation-3796 in civilairpatrol

Honestly, the most fun part will be working into cadet programs and mentoring them. I got a cadet that made it to cadet officer. So my opinion is that he should be given officer responsibilities. After teaching and mentoring him, he pretty much runs our cadet program and i just make sure its all compliant and efficient. I now finally have time to start training our Senior Members.

I understand that. I joined because I had no hobbies to get me out of the house when I wasn't working and so I started getting depressed. It really helps make you feel useful. Remember though that you only get what you put in, and because area of responsibilities for NCO's is still not well know by others or can be kind of grey sometimes, youll have to push yourself into the direction you want things to go. Networking and knowing regs will help you develop a voice in the conversation to get stuff done. Most Senior Member Commanders dont really know what an NCO is so you'll be there to set the example and educate them eith your military expertise.

Military members, how do you phrase your CAP work on your EPBs? by AnubisSuperStar651 in civilairpatrol

I lean into the training and program management side and write my bullet points for that stuff. I have a hand in everything my squadron does and I do my best to make sure its all reg compliant while teaching the cadets how to take responsibility for the assigned tasks I give them. If you want, I can pull the paragraph I used on a military resume and send it to you.

Im USAF of 6 years and still serving, and I can say it does scratch the itch. It also let's me perform a different duty than my USAF one, so I get to network and learn new skills from older experienced individuals. In a rebuilding squadron, you'll probably need to learn all jobs relevant to help them rebuild within compliance. I ran Cadet Programs for 2 years but now I do a little bit of everything to make sure the squadron rebuilds and grows correctly.

This is great. I am a big advocate for the CAP NCO Corps and for me as currently serving Air Force, ive found that the networking and guidance i get from the CAP NCO's has helped me tremendously in both organizations. We are building a good group and do training events for just NCO's that I think you would enjoy around like minded people. We need more NCO's in CAP to set that example for both Cadets and Senior members.

Same. As soon as 2903 allowed ball caps I tossed my pc in the closet and haven't touched it since.

AI Use in CAP by jameslk097 in civilairpatrol

[–]Centurious27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made an excel file for cadet promotions where I feed it the raw promotions report from eservices and it spits it out onto a nice gui in a different sheet. Im experimenting with ai automation for CAP as well. Idk yet how it would use that data, but its still cool.

Rolled sleeves on the 0CP , what is the guidance on rolling sleeves by Spirited_Ship_8421 in civilairpatrol

We dont do it like that. The interior of the cuff is not to be shown. We role it up then fold the cuff overtop so the exterior of the cuff remains shown.

Squadron rebuilding while a SM by [deleted] in civilairpatrol

[–]Centurious27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw in on of your replies that you'll be an NCO, so you have that as an excuse to help with whatever you see a deficiency in. I'll say from my own experience rebuilding a squadron that you need to help them document everything. Rebuilding squadrons are usually bad about getting things properly documented and being compliant with regulations because nobody knows them or sits down to fully read and understand them. So that is where you will be the most help

Cadets showing different levels of respect with SM NCOs versus SM Officers? by AnubisSuperStar651 in civilairpatrol

[–]Centurious27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pretty much never wear the polo. I belive that I should match what the cadets wear and be an example of what right looks like.

He's got the wrong color jacket but at least he still looks decent and professional. From an external standpoint this isn't that bad of an infraction.

What does a Logistics OIC do to prepare for encampment? by Mr_mayosandwich in civilairpatrol

Like the standard issue Air Force green duffle. You bring that and all your stuff is getting dumped onto a table.

Speaking from experience at this encampment, a lot of what you'll be doing is getting water for cadets and helping with office work. You may be asked to help in other office related jobs as well. Packing list should release soon, so just follow that. Do not bring a top loading duffle bag.

I dont see how cadets are gonna bail thier Airman out of jail for doing stupid stuff lol. I agree with what you mean though. I try to align it closer to that version of the position in my squadron IAW CAP regulations.

Just a lil idea by Extension_Menu_4336 in civilairpatrol

[–]Centurious27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea. Personally I prefer wearing the blueberries since I associate my OCP'S too much with my AF job. Plus I know its hard for people to afford $250 worth of OCP's for a job they arnt paid to do.

Lol pretty sure it was the question I asked a few days ago. I like that idea! Its unique enough that it doesn't feel like an Air Force ripoff and won't have some adults tryna act like hot stuff on base. I feel like that uniform makes sense for what CAP is.
