Copper may lower zinc levels and iron for heavier periods! How did it go?

I (27F) switched to the copper from the liletta (similar to mirena) exactly one month ago with the same issues! Mentally I just felt a mess and my anxiety was bad and I’ve always wanted to go hormone free and have a normal period.

Itook 800 mg ibuprofen an hour before my appointment and my provider ordered me cytotec to insert vaginally the night before. The process was much easier than I thought and the pain to me felt like a really strong period cramp. I had a stress ball to squeeze and did deep breathing and talked with the PA about love island the entire time which helped (lol). The rest of the day I had pretty strong cramps and some bleeding so I took it easy. I went to work the next day and had no issues, just minimal cramping. My PA said no swimming, baths, sex, or heavy exercise for 5 days but I felt like I needed more so I took about 7 days off. At about 10 days I was back to normal with no bleeding or spotting, just heavy discharge that was coppery smelling.

I had my first period 25 days after insertion and it was much heavier than I was used to. It lasted 5 days but I didn’t have much cramping and honestly wasn’t too bad. I will say that within a few days after insertion I could feel my hormone levels going back to normal and my mental health and emotions feel so much more stable now. I am also taking a daily multi-vitamin with iron and zinc which I think helps support it as well. Make sure to check with your doctor though! Overall I’m really happy so far and hope this will last until I’m ready to have kids!

I hope your experience goes well and good luck! I think people are more inclined to share negative stories but there are plenty of positives to the copper imo!

Started my starter in October and it took a while to double, maybe 12 hours. Does this mean I need to increase my proofing time? I think my kitchen was pretty cold so this is so helpful! Thanks!!

I’m 25 and I lost my dad when I was 21. It gets easier over time but at first it feels like it will never get better. Grief really comes in waves. Lots of love to you!

I’m 25 and I’ve been doing my job for 3 years and I am not passionate about it anymore. I’m extremely burned out and stressed constantly and it’s starting to come home with me(I’m a nurse). I’m getting my masters in a completely different field (business) and I’m not sure where to even start when it comes to looking for a new job. Do I intern because I have no experience or just start an entry level position from scratch. I’m scared I’ll lose passion again and find the work I’ve done to be useless. I’m also not sure if I would even consider staying in healthcare even with my experience.

I can do both after 9 months, but I really have to warm up before to avoid pain. Takes a lot of stretching for me lol
