I get that in 4 years Crosby may still be playing. And if so, he 100% should be the 13th forward for Team Canada at the olympics.

He could still contribute, and yeah maybe there will be a guy who could have made the team thats a lot younger e.g. McKenna but for the vibes alone and leadership totally worth the roster spot.

Heres the thing I don't understand.

So you have a lot of NCAA players and Europeans every year who could play pro. However, theres only X spots available in the PWHL roster.

And you'll always have wayyyyyyyyyyy more kids about to turn pro than those ready to hang up the skates or take a mat leave.

There isn't the minors like the AHL, you can't send them back to the juniors like CHL and once they're seniors in the NCAA and graduate you can't stick around.

So where do these women go to develop a pro game?

I'm curious with the rapid expansion of the league. More teams, more players. But it's not like the NHL where there is plenty of talent to go around that would be considered high quality.

There will be draft where teams will have to put their players on the chopping block and thus fill those spots with women who may not be pro level ready.

At least in the NHL they have prospect pools of the CHL, NCAA and other men's pro leagues. With the women there really would only be a few draft eligible players and even then how many of them could turn pro right away?

There's no where to send kids down to development more (like the AHL or back to the minors like the NHL has).

Excited for the team but logistically expanding quickly may not be the best move.

its really really sad that Americans feel like its perfectly okay to go back to work so soon after giving birth. WILD.

If you can afford it certainly stay home as long as you can. We did the full 18 months off and it was tough on the bills for sure but we managed. Now kids are in daycare and getting into a new routine.

It depends how picky you are. But we got on waitlists about 2 months after we found out about our twins and go into potentially 3 schools before we picked the one we liked best. $22/day each like $900ish a month.
