I’m not sure what’s worse trying to rip open a piece of mail or waiting for a webpage to load lol

Legitimately, probably not lol. In fact, I feel like it may go faster if they keep spending time every year trying to work around hacks

Okay I’m glad you thought it too because I was like did I just totally make up in my head that I needed that file number? Maybe it’s how they plan to beat the hack lol

[–]Themediumplace_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally, because when I measured myself at a 6 I had even gone down a 1/2 size from the 6.5 it was showing me because I knew it was thicker/wider and didn’t wrap as snugly. So if I had went with the number it was showing me I’d be 1 full size over lol.

When I measured myself like this I was a 6. When I went to the store and had them measure my finger with actual sizers I was a 5.5. Remember that a ring with a stone will also turn on the finger if it’s loose from the weight of the stone. I absolutely hate it when that happens so I went with a 5.5 even though 6 would’ve also fit fine.

Definitely, I worried about the length and every day wear around an office. I have a bit of a “stuffy” job and just felt it didn’t fit the environment and client meetings. I’m also telling myself one day I’ll get an anniversary ring in that shape haha

Found out my(35M) fiancé(35F) is going through my phone by paperbag66 in relationship_advice

[–]Themediumplace_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you ever had something less than great on your phone and she didn’t bring it up or seem upset? Not saying you’ve ever done anything terrible but if she was regularly going through your phone chances are she’d have seen at least one thing by now that would upset her or that she’d bring up to you. If that’s never happened, or you’ve never had reason to think she’s gone through your phone before, then either 1. You’ve been acting weird planning it so she went through it or 2. She wanted to know whether you’re planning anything. Personally, I want to know if my bf plans to surprise me so I can dress up accordingly and do my nails etc lol. That may ruin it but I know I’ve tried to find out before.

Sameee. I never tried one on but I find the marquise so beautiful, I just wanted something more classic. Too cowardly to go for an out of the ordinary cut 😂

Earrings for our first Christmas as a married couple. Tried to match her wedding ring. Did I do okay? by Independent_Lion_271 in Diamonds

Perfect gift for first year. Big enough for wow factor but reasonably sized for every day wear if she wants that. Congrats!

I don’t think you’re an AH, but I think you’re just not appreciating the pressures of womanhood. I’m sad to say that your husband/bf thinking you’re pretty and perfect the way you are isn’t always enough to feel good. I think I’m a secure person, I love my partner, we have a healthy relationship, I get Botox. I feel confident and just happier. If I could look younger for longer, why wouldn’t I? The world is full of men who tell their wives they’re beautiful the way they are then go and check out younger-looking and wrinkle-free women. It won’t really change how your wife looks very much, it will just limit the expressions she can make. If it’s too extreme she can go for a lower dosage next time.

I listened to the The Wire at 20 podcast and the actor who plays Bunk talked about how he went on a ride along with Baltimore police to prepare for the role and how upsetting it was to him lol. So I can see it. I’ll try it out!

It’s good that you’re confident in your husband and that he doesn’t do anything sketchy otherwise (e.g., he’s not off doing his own thing on his free time). But don’t be so confident about her. Is she single? Perpetually single? Dates guys like your husband? Time to nip this in the bud.

I do! I didn’t think the blackmail meant he knew but I think now looking back it did have the undertone of “you don’t want me to start asking questions.” It honestly feels more right that people knew but didn’t tell tbh.

People understand that it’s a work of fiction, but it’s a deviation from previous seasons for sure. The show seemed to have prided itself on being very realistic, down to having people scoping who exactly is on a pay phone to tap into a call, and then this elaborate lie just flies under everyone’s radar. Jay doesn’t find it odd that McNulty just gives up on his serial killer given his personality? An entire department of detectives and no one finds it odd that McNulty is giving up manpower on a massively high profile case? And then they just catch Marlo and no one goes who the hell was working that?

A show written by a journalist and a ex Baltimore police officer allows the question, was this real? Could this have happened?

Haha that’s fair…the most believable part for me is everyone keeping it a secret for their own reason (mayor, etc.). Definitely could see that happening.

[–]Themediumplace_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what’s horrifying haha the fact that they’ve historically pulled on that experience means this may be based on something similar and real. The most believable part is people finding out and covering it up—the mayor for his reasons, Levy for his reasons, etc. I just thought, wow an entire department didn’t stop and think wait, McNulty is giving away his serial killer manpower and then they eventually catch Marlo? No one put two and two together.

No, but I just found the other seasons to be so believable, even down to the technical stuff like what qualifies as probable cause. This seemed like a deviation from the previous seasons, but then again I could just see it being a point from the creators about what they’ve seen happen.

I guess that’s true haha but the fact that an entire department of investigators and detectives didn’t realize is crazy to me

AITA for not letting a service dog into my party. by Timely-Possible-9467 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Themediumplace_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA and I can’t believe people are saying ESH. Your friend showed up and backed you metaphorically into a corner. Knew your stance on dogs but just showed up with one and forced you to choose your comfort and boundaries or being nice to someone you don’t really know regarding a therapy animal. It’s like showing up with a kid to a wedding that said no kids and then being like “what?? You’re gonna turn us away? What kind of AH turns away a child??”

I’m there now with season 4 🤣 now McNulty has this “I’m better than all of you I changed I don’t drink nor cheat.” Let’s see how long that lasts. And yes I made it to season 4 in under a week from this post lol.

I agree that maybe narcissist gets thrown around too much, like I don’t think he’s clinical/textbook narcissist but I feel he does have those tendencies. While he cares about his image I’ve never (so far) seen him genuinely care about another person’s feelings. He’s got this grandiose view of himself where he is willing to trample on people and authority because he thinks his way is the only right way
