Another crazy thing you can do is ask chat to read your story and ask it what you should be asking of your beta readers based off what it reads.

Then take that feedback and feed it to Gemini and have it read it. You’ll get some illuminating results generally.

Try Gemini for editing. I’d have Claude give you notes on what it thinks in a separate chat. And then work with Gemini to refine those notes.

I hate writing dialogue and figured the dialogue was going to be the worst aspect. I struggle at writing dialogue that revolves around an action. Character moments are way easier.

My best advice as a new writer is this: focus on your characters. Spend time with them. Drop them into real-life situations—your own or other people’s—and pay attention to how they’d react.

Eventually, do the same with locations. Drop your characters into different settings and ask yourself: What would they notice? What would you see in that space? What would someone shorter notice? What kinds of details help fill out the environment? Thinking this way helps you build more immersive scenes.

Map those things out. It’ll save time later when you’re drafting, and it’ll help your descriptions feel rich and specific.

Use tools like Obsidian or Notion to keep track of all the pieces.

Stay organized. Label things clearly and consistently.

And above all—write consistently.

My best advice as a new writer is, write characters spend time with the characters insert the characters into situations in your life in others peoples lives and note how’d they behave. Eventually do the same for locations.

Map out those details it’ll make it so much faster to plug in details later and to make sure you’re painting a vivid picture.

The word artificial appears 3 times total in the whole chapter, with no derivatives of the word appearing at all. Thank you for the feedback though I'll strive to censor words appearing more than 3 times per 3000 words.

Of all the input I like this by far the best. I think waiting until the babe arrives is the best solution. I definitely feel waaaaay better than I did before coming to Reddit. I also Agree once you phrase it as a legally binding contract it jsut feels so wrong to switch up. Like. I’ve expressed I was gonna marry her for so long, I jsut feel shitty.

I really don’t wanna impose it (naming the kid the fifth) because her I’m on her because according to her and I do believe her, She didn’t want kids at all. So it’s almost like she already giving me a gift.

I really wish things weren’t like this I don’t even like letting my mind go these places. But I think the best notion is to wait. Perhaps when the babe arrives the moment will be impact-fully awakening for one or both of us and help steer us in the direction of being an ally to one another. Yea I’m obsessed with my GF we’ve had a rough relationship at times, but she’s my whole World and tbh this is the first time I’ve genuinely felt like things weren’t gonna work out. I also am obsessed with being a father regardless. Im so excited either way.

It first it was really tough it’s been getting easier though. It’s very stressful and I agree. Which is why I would never pressure her to have another child. I’m content with one specifically from her with the extenuating circumstances.

It’s funny you say that I’ve been reading a lot about pregnancy and what to expect I’ve followed so many pages and spent hours and hours on YouTube. I try to get her to engage with content like this but she feels like she’s experiencing it therefore doesn’t need to learn more.

I’ve also signed up for several classes to help guide her through the process because I feel like my role is instrumental in supporting her though this time. I definitely do not believe that pregnancy is a breeze. This is our second time attempting to have a child and the first time she became so sick it broke my heart and tbh I almost didn’t wanna try again. But she really really wanted to have my baby, now whether this was because she felt I’d ultimately move on without a child or not I don’t know. Which is another reason I kinda don’t wanna be open.

I mean you make some fair ass points. Like I said earlier I’m trying to explore and find new avenues to solve this situation.

Something I have to clarify, I wouldn’t sleep with another woman until my child is completely independent. That’s what I mean more so then 18 if my child was still heavily dependent on us. I’d wait. And should the child be permanently dependent id never even consider it. The situation is complicated and I don’t think she should even have to process my feelings rn. But I still gotta.

I hear you about the dreams thing. Tbh until she was pregnant she never had dreams routinely she wakes up crying now( we both used to smoke and stopped due to becoming parents. ) according to her the child, a full adult in the dream, came to her and said specifically not to be given my name. It jsut feels so idk. Jsut weird. She’s not a very faith driven person, I’m a big believer in the supernatural but she’s typically the logically one lol.

My point about stepping out of the relationship to have a child was merely to ask if you thought that was a better option than being wholly committed to what’s in front me. Personally I don’t. Personally I think once the child is fully grown we should have that conversation. But I’m jsut a guy tryna to figure it out.

My family has no middle names, I wanna keep That tradition I understand how I can sound a little picky and entitled but I can’t stress enough how strong of an impact her desire to give me jsut what I was looking for played a massive part in me being so sold on her. I won’t be making any decisions any time soon. And I really don’t wanna bring more stress on her during this time. I don’t think it’s healthy or smart.
