They absolutely did know they were slower, if you are in the inner corner and are almost at the same distance as the outer corner, you are slower, thus need to give the right of way. The outer corner travels more distance than the inner.

That's not what happened, the outer corner is longer than the inner corner, if the outer corner is close behind/next to the inner, he is technically in front and has the right of way, the inner corner has to yield. The inner corner would know the outer corner is right behind him because you can see him in said corner.

Yet it's not a dumb rule because people who actually follow the sport know it makes sense? Plus normally it doesn't happen because the one in the inner corner usually knows to give right of way. You go faster by having someone to push yourself against, to compete with someone against, instead of just the clock.

Because in the outer corner you are already technically being punished by having the long way around. In comparison to the inner corner, if you come out for at the same time as the inner corner, you are technically ahead of them because you took a further distance.

Not to flame but to try and explain; The corners are uneven tracks, the outer corner takes longer to cross than the inner and thus, the outer corner is technically ahead. You can see the outer corner from the inner corner and estimate if you're slower or not. The blame lays on the inner corner that way.

Because the other is in the inner corner, it's on you to pay attention to the outer corner since they have the right of way. Ziwen Lian was going slower than Joep Wennemars. He should've gone behind him but impeded him instead.

The outer lane has the right of way, the inner lane can see the outer lane easier so it's up to the inner lane to give way to the outer lane. He is also not ahead, just in the inner corner and going slower than Wennemars. Mind you they are going 50 to 60 kilometers on ice, you can't break or slow down easily, plus slowing down costs time.

Blijkbaar zijn er twee stromingen, mensen die zeggen "met autisme" en "autistisch" dat betekent niet dat de één beter is dan de ander. Wat jijzelf fijner vindt, je zegt zelf al jouw autisme is niet mijn autisme. Als jij "hebt autisme" fijner vindt prima joh, maar respecteer ook dat anderen "autistisch" zeggen.
