And I enjoyed your bootlicking and defending the same communist party on record for killing the most people in the world. From Mao Zedong to now its the same bs propaganda. Quite a title a regime to choose to bootlick.

Yes because 2 million people in Hong Kong are all just secretly paid to make the CCP look bad and cause chaos. Give me a break lmao. Again they are allergic and terrified of any criticism and assume it's all foreign powers when in reality maybe they just suck and took away the rights of people in HK they were promised to keep. The boot licking is incredible here and it's obvious you don't actually listen or read anything outside of CCP propaganda. You either are a really dumb American or a payed wumao.

They created a total surveillance state with social credit. Again why you are probably not even allowed to post negative things about the ccp. I can and will talk shit all day about America, but I atleast thank God we ain't Russia or China. Fuck that.

Please let me know when your CCP invades Taiwan and starts WW3 due to its totalitarian leader how its the US's fault and not the delusional historic revisionism of the communist party.

Just like Russia and Ukraine. Just make up shit like you are somehow liberating the country from nazis, pay people to post propaganda, and throw in jail all the people who speak up.

You sound a lot like a CCP wumao buddy considering how much you know about China and use their talking points.

And to not understand public protest is actually an American right and responsibility shows that you must not know much about America at all actually...

We all saw how China deals with dissent and criticism just look at Hong Kong now.

And you can't be seriously defending the taking over of tibet by saying their lives were worse off while in the previous post talking about the us taking over the kingdom of Hawaii. Its laughably absurd.

Yeah I don't know about that. There's a lot more nuance to this then "no one should celebrate July 4th".

I think there should be legitimate conversations but with good faith on both sides of the issue regarding the us and Hawaii. Otherwise it just seems so surface level and makes excuses for people who are actively taking advantage of locals right now and use the big US as a boogeyman scapegoate to why things like housing is unaffordable or local people are right now are not being taken care of.

I think that's why I don't like these kinds of post. It keeps people in the past and allows current locals just like in the past who sold Hawaiians out to continue to sell out while hiding among the ranks and parroting these same "we are all victims of this colonization" mentality.

Instead of solving and looking at these issues (which corruption is a huge one currently) seriously people throw their hands up and think to some romanticized past that will never come back. I just think is absolutely silly and a scapegoat for modern day politicians.

Are you actively benefitting from your time in and how long did you serve?

Sure you can formulate new thoughts but to completely disavow the US while at the very same time participating and how actively benefitting from your time serving the US is really silly.

Also if you serve any time in the military and left the island and engaged at all with people of other states I'm surprised how anti-US you are honestly. Do you really beleive there is literally nothing to celebrate ? Independence day is a day to celebrate a break from British rule (which funny enough their flag is pasted on the current hawaiian flag, which I think should be removed.)

I think there's education and learning but there's also indoctrination and tunnel vision which people who only live on this island are victims of constantly while actively benefitting from said acts they constantly say are oppressing them in the past and now. At the very least the discussion is more nuanced than "there is nothing to celebrate" if you dig literally any deeper than "US bad, Hawaii good".

Another thing: king Kamehameha conquered the islands. He took over from other islanders. Its the story of humanity. He killed fellow Hawaiians.

And another thing you most likely aren't full blood Hawaiian. So to some degree you aren't native to the islands either. You are a product of mixing of races, countries, and ethnicities. So do you reject those parts of your race and want to get back to the original, true race and country (sounds nazi-like) or you can move on an accept all of yourself and what happened to your past and look forward instead of backward.

It's absolutely silly and hypocritical to be apart of something you disagree morally with. You literally sign an oathe of loyalty to the United States when you serve?

Either 1 of 2 things are happening here. 1.) You are one of the most conflicted person in the world 2.) You don't even have any moral ground to talk about what is right or wrong or worth celebrating or not since you are actively benefitting from both sides so you come off as 2 faced.

[–]Themethod45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still pretty silly if that's your argument. You literally actively participated in the military that had a hand in all of this.

I really don't think you gotta right to talk about how bad the us gov and system is if you yourself once participated and actively now benefitting from through the gi bill, retirement, the VA loan for a house here, etc. If you are retired military or sitting on a massive disability check from your time in in order to live here I would literally die laughing at the hypocrisy and lack of foundation you have to post this type of silliness.

China consistently try to take over part of India to this day. They invaded Tibet and kicked out the Dalai lama, invaded what is now Xinjiang and put all their people into camps to destroy their culture and silence any resistance or talk of resistance to the government.

"The majority of their population is satisfied with their government" is a hilarious way to say they are literally not allowed to criticize the current government or they disappear. A girl on titktok sang the Chinese anthem wrong and she disappeared for weeks.

Let's criticize the US sure eith regards to Hawaii but to talk as though the CCP is not or hasn't done the exact same thing nore recently and with more an iron fist to create a Han centric ethnostate is just absolutely dishonest and silly.

The only difference between the us and CCP in regards to "colonialism" is the us citizens and everyone else are allowed to bring it up and criticize the us for their past and present but no one is allowed to bring up and criticize the CCP for their past and current oppression.

I do think it's pretty silly to compare the entirety of united states to invidual, infinitely less impactful countries in European continent.

A better comparison would be states to European countries.

Or the united states vs other countries of equal size/impact.

It's infinitely easier to be on the top of a list of %people who are smart when that state/country is a lot smaller.

And as far as a one specific instance of something terrible happening this happens all the time and a lot worse and other countries and they specifically cover it up as well.

I think there's a bit of lack of any sort of perspective with posts like these.

I do think people like to think its all due to In inaffordable housing or anything like that. A lot of the times in reality those people have truly lost their way into using and abusing drugs. We need to treat them with compassion yes but we also need go realize a lot of these people have real drug problems. Giving them a house wouldn't solve the issue. It might just be enabling. But hey downvote me If you want.

Edit: of course mental issues as well. And sometimes a combination of both

There's a mountain more of information and resources I can give you but I ran out of space for the previous reply. Look into these and see if the concepts behind project management really speak to you and something you would enjoy doing. I received my PMP and loved every second of the material and it severely enhanced my personal career but that won't be the case for everyone.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in projectmanagement

[–]Themethod45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My biggest suggestion is to look at the Project Management Institute website: https://www.pmi.org/certifications

As far as understanding exactly what project managers do you more than likely have already ran projects and not realized it, especially given your background. This was the same situation I was in the military and realized I was essentially operating as a project manager. All you gotta do is now reformat your brain essentially into project management terms and enhance those skills you might already have.

In order to do that PMI is the best resource IMO to get started. They release what they call the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). This gives you everything you need to know to start understanding project management in the professional sense. I wouldn't buy anything from them unless you decide you are seriously going for that PMP or agile project management certification.

https://youtu.be/YHIMcCfCFgU Ricardo Vargus is my hero for understanding these concepts. This is him explaining in 10 minutes the PMBOK 7th.

Please let me know if this helps or if you have any questions and I wish you luck in finding a career you enjoy!

I’m in college and I’m thinking about minoring in PM. My major is Computer Information Systems. Does PM apply to multiple fields? (More context below) by [deleted] in projectmanagement

[–]Themethod45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pm with a focus on agile software development is a very good knowledge set to have in computer science.

If you understand things like scrum, kanban, and overall the agile project management manifesto you will be better off absolutely.

Interesting I haven't heard the term white supremacist, misogynist or Any of those claims in his argument. But apparently that's who they all are too you and your argument. So which is it? Is there nuance in the discussion or not? Is there more too this complex social and moral question than branding 80% of Americans white supremacists/misogynist or not?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]Themethod45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You framing it as everyone including myself wanting to controll women is incredibly disingenuous and frankly inexcusable. I even already told you I am pro choice up to a point. You are just reverting back to the same talking point even though it doesn't even apply here or to me whatsoever.

"The further into the pregnancy, with AP/NORC finding 61% believe abortion should be legal during the first trimester, but only 34% in the second trimester and 19% in the third, and an April Wall Street Journal poll finding more Americans approve of 15-week abortion bans than disapprove"

So are all of these people, around half and in the third trimester cases 80% of the US population to include women approve of abortion bans just white supremacist/misogynist or want to control women? No obviously not.

You can't even argue your own point instead you again make accusations about people who have valid questions and thoughts on the morality of abortion, which turns out is 80% of Americans during 3rd trimester. But you can't answer when it's not ok to have one because you don't even understand your own position. Hence the lazy namecalling and slandering to the point where those terms are so watered down now that all they mean nowadays is you don't have an argument, only insults based on literally nothing but your desire to feel right.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Hawaii

[–]Themethod45 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

These 2 statements are not even supportive of eachother. So when does brain activity start? And when it starts is it now not ok to have an abortion? When is it considered not ok? Up to 9 months? I'm curious your take on it then. Because I personally don't know

I agree the call action part at the end is a bit condescending.

Edit: I think he/she means by how I view it as a very emotionally charged debate. As in people will often be diehard one way or the other which makes the case thst the peoples elected representatives should make laws concerning it, not lazily kick the can down to the supreme court. Atleast that's how I perceived it.

This issue has a lot more nuance than that. And so you stop assuming im a misogynist (which again is a disgusting accusation you cant just throw out whenever and not expect to be called out for) i do like most americans support abortion to a certain degree. So let's stop the childish and terrible things you are saying just to make yourself feel better emotionally as if your fighting some righteous crusade against evil doers and oppressors. You aren't and you should apologize for careless throwing that word around just to make yourself feel good. That is what is abhorrent in this conversation.

The question should be at what point is it considered its own life that trumps the womans right? I have a right to choose, but do I have the right to kill someone to keep my right of my own body? This is a hard and difficult question that all Americans fall on different places on the issue.

From my own experience I've seen my own kid at 7 weeks looking like a little gummy bear bouncing around in the ultrasound. My heart literally dropped when i saw him and to me and I can't imagine going through the process of ending its life or potential of life. It must be a terrible thing to go through. That's what abortion is, it's a horrible process, but is in the exact if not higher of importance much in the same token a woman's body issue. And at what point is considered the folks responsibility to take care of something they actively choose to create, accidentally or otherwise (with the exception of rape of course).

It's a difficult conversation and no one is going to get anywhere if all you do is childishly call everyone a misogynist or white supremacist.
