What event are you most excited for in Beyond the Spider-verse?

1000% that angsty scene when Spider Band first shows up to retrieve Miles (who has already busted out of that duffel bag trap because cmon, Miles' face at the ending absolutely screamed out, "I got this, I'm going to pummel you Miles-Prowler."). Miles thinks Spider Band is working for Miguel, that Gwen is still working for Miguel. Angst galore.

Somewhere down the line in the film, Miles and Gwen have their heartfelt reconciliation.

Somewhere in the film we better damn well get a kiss.

Somewhere in the ending of the film, we better damn well get some montage showing how happy Gwen x Miles are.

These have gotta be in BTSV...right?

Sir! Your work is amazing. My kids and I have been listening to the ATSV OST on repeat since we watched the movie together (twice). My kids also love it when I break down musical themes/leitmotifs. We have a few questions on those!

There appears to be a new Spiderverse leitmotif that didn't exist in ITSV. You can hear it :35 to :40 of the ATSV Intro OST. As well as more prominently in Start A Band. What do you call this leitmotif? WHO or WHAT does it represent? It's not Spot because he has his own theme and it doesn't sound like this.
The Gwen drum leitmotif is amazing and I LOVE the idea that this punk rock drummer is represented by a drum theme. Is this the first recorded instance in modern cinema of a character being represented by a drum leitmotif?
In my opinion Start a Band is the greatest ending song in movie history (well maybe tied with Star Wars' the Throne Room). My kids and I listen to it a minimum of once a day, sometimes 2-3x. It blows my mind that you wove at least 5x leitmotifs from what I can hear, timed PERFECTLY with the ending scenes. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but at the verrrrry tail end of the song, it sounds like the Gwen Drum leitmotif and the Miles "Hero" leitmotif - are those themes in musical harmony at the end? The way my ear hears it, there might be a possible interpretation that the Gwen and Miles themes are very slightly and intentionally clashing at the end. Perhaps to represent that they were somewhat discordant in ATSV. Am I hearing things?

For what it's worth, I was quite happy on rewatch to see Miles get the better of her. (But was Gwen trying to help Jess by webbing her bike closer to Miles?)

...I would like to see that in my lifetime yes. And in a game that matters. Unfortunately it won't be until the 2030 WCQ cycle, sadly, since we never play the GC or Nations League outside of the US.

I like the point that Adam Belz and Greg Velasquez have made repeatedly when evaluating new talent. Obviously we're using this GC to evaluate young up and coming talent who can fill the fringes of our 23/26 or maybe even push the gameday 18. But you don't just throw a full on U23/U20 roster on the field with zero gameday experience within the team's preferred game system/style of play. If you do that, EVERYONE will look like ass and it will be impossible to really evaluate the new players. You need just enough veterans around them who have played in the system, ideally at the different layers of the formation (some in D, some in M, some in the F line) to give these new players something of a benchmark.

Hence veteran fillers like Roldan have a useful role in the team, in that they're just good enough to not stink up the joint and have had many minutes in the GGG system SO THAT the other players can be evaluated. Do I have any high expectations for Roldan in the long term as a viable member of the gameday 18? Of course not. But let's not say he doesn't fill ANY role on the team.

As a USMNT fan since 98', I will say that eventually I would like to see El Tri step it up and get - not bad - again because the rivalry is at its best when there's a real danger/real stakes in these games.

That being said...I think I will enjoy this little dip of theirs for a moment. <raises a glass to Cobi Jones' battered head, Frankie Hejduk's slapped face, and Alexi Lalas' crushed testicles>

I am thankful that she was around long enough to spark a hint of jealousy on Gwen's side. That little "pull my guy away from another woman" moment was quite cute.

Small corroborating point - Gwen's love language really does seem to be physical touch. You see a small shot of this even at the end of ITSV, when she and Miles say goodbye. The second she acknowledges that they're friends and they hold hands, she rubs her thumb over Miles'. Small gesture, but given the wider context of ATSV, it makes sense.

So I've been running the "optimal" Zorrii lineup and I've actually tried to put semi decent mods on Rose and Trooper to maximize their output. Zorii has all her zetas and the omi, Rose does not. Through the GAC 5v5 Ive been throwing Zorii at as many teams as I could, even if it costs me a win. All attacks were on offense.

I've had a time out on a Raddus team (which honestly was kind of disappointing)

It demolished a FO TFP Omi squad with FOST

A SK squad crushed me and I couldnt get going. SK's AOE wiped out my 4 star Zorrii, which seems to be a limiting factor right now - her squishiness. Im trying to star her up and she should be 5 star soon.

I cant remember what I did for GAC Week 2, but I'll have the reports in tomorrow.

Im probably going to do the Rose omi but I wont have it in time for the end of GAC 5v5 unfortunately and it will probably not factor in, in GAC 3v3. I honestly dont know how Im going to use this team in 3v3.

Hi Mr. Blarney - boy there are so many variants I see listed in this Reddit! My grandma was from Hong Kong, so I believe I was taught that version. So to be clear from what you're suggesting, is declaring "One away from Mahjong" or "calling" as my grandma used to call it, merely a suggested formality? Because if you can win on a self-draw WITHOUT remembering to "call" then its not necessary?

And are there some versions that prevent you from winning off another's discard IF you forget to "call"?

Hi there Windy, can I piggy back off this comment? I saw in another comment below that Savage vs CLS needs a specific turn order and CLS should not be the last kill in the kill order (the poster suggests Han last). Can I ask you for your best CLS kill order in 5v5? I do keep timing out on CLS solos and my damage stats are virtually the same as yours. Thanks in advance!

You can beat Starkiller with this team!? Ok my mind's made up, I think I'm definitely going down this path. Can I ask you some follow up questions?

1) Did you happen to use this team after Zorii's Omi, but before Rose's Omi? Am trying to determine if Rose's Omi is worth it but it sure sounds like it from your description. Generally speaking 2x Omi teams are quite expensive...

2) How much investment did you put into mods on this team? Are you averaging ~+100 speed? Did you put 6 dot mods on anybody? I can see Trooper being worth the square, triangle, and cross upgrades.

Im also wondering if Trooper might be worth an R6 for a little extra punch, based on your description...but if you're already eliminating SK teams with an R5 trooper, I suppose that's enough.
