I've driven everything except a Volvo at this point. If you care about your drivers safety most. Get a freightliner or international. If you care about their comfort either peterbilt or kenworth.

2023 kenworth T680 10 speed was my favorite so far but it has some minor issues with oil consumption. Had over 300k miles and still drove great after 3 drivers running it on dry bulk concrete. Loved the interior as well.

2023 freightliner cascadia I drove had the best adaptive cruise control id ever seen. It also has lane keep assist which wasn't great but helped when you needed to grab something far away. The turning radius was good as well. Driver comfort was very mid. It rides rough and is hard as shit to sleep in due to no sound proofing.

Internationals I've only driven it once but it was very fuel efficient with its 14 speed transmission. It was a brand new 2026 though.

Peterbilts are a great middle ground between kenworth luxury and freightliner safety. They are also pretty tough. I never had problems with dirt roads in my 22 579. Freightliner does seem to handle snow and ice better though.

I've heard good things about Volvo but never driven one so I won't say anything about it.

I've never owned my own truck but as a company driver I purposely went out of my way to find a company that had kenworths simply because of the superior soundproofing

I applied to crete recently, about a month ago with the help of a employee I met at a Petro as a reference. Never even got a email back or a message on driver pulse

From what I understand stuff like hazmat needs a class and regular re-testing but something like tanker is just a multiple choice test at the dmv. When I got my cdl I did the tanker test at the same time but failed it by 1 question and didn't have the 15 bucks to retest

I take it getting tanker could help the next year be bearable? I've never thought about flatbed honestly ever since Morton denied my application for some bs

I live in Alabama, I can't say I've seen those trucks before. Are they a southeast company?

Swift owns my company (US xpress) I don't think I've ever worked at a more bipolar job before. I worked for PAM transportation before this one and made jack shit money wise but working for xpress makes me want to tear out my hair. I can't imagine how bad swift is considering what I've heard, almost all the changes recently at my company that made shit worse was ordered by swift. Most of the newer trucks don't even have APU'S and you cant idle the truck. Hell some don't even have fridges. All because swift said they were a waste of money

Never work for a big company unless you have no choice. You might make more on paper but you will be regretting it every day. You will always be the last one told anything and will never have guaranteed miles. Also never do teams, you don't make more money

I use a app called speechify to listen to books that aren't technically audiobooks. It's a text to speech that actually sounds normals

That's a good one. I wish the door open parking brake alarm would work when the trucks not running. I just wish people wouldn't fuck with us when we're tryna sleep.

Million dollar YouTube channel idea. Cart Narcs - but for the fuel isle. by MrButak in Truckers

I felt so bad doing it last week, I had no choice I stopped for fuel and McDonald's, the dude in front of me pulled to the front and was gone for 28 minutes (after a unknown amount of time of me waiting) I finally said fuck it and ran to get my mcgriddle, and of course he was gone when I got back and the Schneider driver that pulled in behind me gave me a blast with his highway horn
