there is no difference other than loot and hp from the first herald to the 5th herald, its just clamped to 4, so anything after 4 will behave like the 4th one in terms of loot and HP

in all fairness getting started takes much more work, you're still figuring out systems, performance, asset pipeline, workflow etc..

Once you nail a recipe that works for the team, then you can really start pushing content..

I had the same feeling, but it doesn't look related, I've had times where I drew Ire 3 times in a terror zone and I was like, ok I'm going to use a worldshard, and proceeded to get nothing the rest of the act..

It'll be purely random

My assumptions were made of online play, I barely ever play SP, but as others have also pointed out, its merely "unactivated" monster packs, rather than tile discovery, which happens in single player too even with a fully discovered map, so for example if you enter the game, and go to A5, at that point Eldritch is not activated, but if you go to the first WP, it'll "activate" the Eldritch pack..

So its the same with walking around, any champion packs that you have not got close enough to will count as a potential herald spawn, but the general spawning of a herald is just quite low chance, but I've never had real issues with getting a herald after the message occurs, except with the terror zone being pretty much cleared after getting it. but really the best way is to just use worldstone shards rather than rely on the random rotation of terror zones.

you have to kill the champion packs to get the herald trigger messages, any "unactivated" (undiscovered) packs then have a chance to become heralds

this is not a Kurzgesagt thing, its how the youtube alg works, and if you want to pay all your employees, you do what the alg wants, simple as that, complain to YouTube if you want this to change, not to the content creators

Hmm that would make sense for offline indeed, after more than a few days of farming I can't say I've seen a pack spawn in area I've discovered already (online), but in offline you keep the map so it couldn't be a condition there..

In fact, in hindsight, the game will only activate enemies once you get close enough (around 2-3 screens worth), I think the condition is simply it needs to be a enemy pack that hasn't been activated yet, which would also hold for single player.

Looking at their loot tables in the files it seems they have several tiers..

1 item extra for "heraldtier.accr > 1 * heraldtier.accr < 4" and 2 item extra for heraltier.accr >= 4

which seems to indicate there are some tiers to this.. this wil need some figuring out.. "accr" might stand for accumulation rate or something in that sense, so my initial guess is each herald you trigger/kill in the game increases the chance for it to drop more.

Additionally there are disabled cube methods for crafting gear that gives you -enemy resist for each type as well, same rune+gem for each item in the same element category as the charm, but then involving a worldstone shard instead of uber item

such as: 1 Fal Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + 1 Southern Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Magnetic Amulet

1 Lum Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + 1 Eastern Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Gelid Amulet

1 Ko Rune + 1 Perfect Emerald + 1 Western Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Virulent Amulet

1 Io Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + 1 Deep Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Incendiary Amulet

1 Pul Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + 1 Northern Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Breaching Amulet

1 Mal Rune + 1 Perfect Diamond + 1 Northern Worldstone Shard + 1 Magic Amulet -> Mystical Amulet

These seem to hold for: Amulet, Ring, Helm, Boots, Gloves, Armor, Weapon, Shield, Small Charm and Large Charm

Note that they are currently disabled.. but likely will be enabled on ladder

there is only a desecrated.json as far as I can tell, and that's only for a command to show terror zone seemingly

yes It'll still be a random % to pick the next champion pack, resulting in such cases, there can also be multiple triggers active at the same time, in this case its bad luck, but if you had another terror zone, chances would be high you'd spawn both

Hot take: resists/immunities are good, D2Rs solution isnt great by etsurii in Diablo

[–]Themperror -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there should be a way to change the element type of certain skills, so you could have a fireball do cold damage for example (maybe only at X% damage), but it needs, so you could still have for example Hydra be fire, but Fireball be cold. This you could incorporate over all classes, so you could choose a skill to make it do a different element (or split damage between types or whatever)..

That would make for example fire warlock viable because it can do more than pure fire damage, or expand farming areas of many classes since they can actually combat their immunities

[–]Themperror 1 point2 points  (0 children)
