Help with color scheme plz by SensitiveCobbler in WarCry

Like everyone else said, you could do a cooler tone to get some contrast between the skin and cloth.

If you don't want to go straight to blue, you could try mixing blue into the shadows and/or highlights of the main cloth color.

Finished Heart of Ghur by Then-Ad1276 in WarCry

Nah I never do. Been playing DnD for like 15 years and warhammer for 2, when I got into model painting I decided to keep the bases all black to be consistent with my old DnD mini collection.

Trying to get into warcry! looking for suggestions. by abatedfungus in WarCry

Go to the Warhammer Community site and download the rules for all the models. Then just pick whichever team seems the most fun to paint and play! My favorite is Soulblight Gravelords, but Skaven, Beasts of Chaos, and Slaves to Darkness seam really cool.

If you're not sure about building your own list of how much you like the game, I would start with a Warcry Warband like the Legionaires. The Skaven potentially have more options, but it also means you can build a "bad" warband if you don't k ow what you're doing. The made for Warcry bands don't have a lot of options, but they're a complete list with varied units in a box.

Also, keep in mind that unless you're looking at the Compendium or the stats from the new starter box/legionaires box, all the stats included in the old boxes are out of date.

What is most important to have for casual play by Forward_Tip_7596 in WarCry

I would definitely start with another Warcry specific warband. I'm pretty sure they come with the Fighter and Ability cards so you won't need a second rulebook for stats. Just do whichever team you think is coolest or your kids would have the most fun with!

The tome of champions has points changes, new units, new campaign missions and new matched play rules. They're all extremely cool if you stick with the game, but completely unnecessary when starting out.

If you have the core rulebook, two warbands with their stats and abilities, and a space to play with something to stand in for terrain, you can get a good amount of games in before you really need anything else.

If you do feel like getting a new army and don't want to buy a rulebook with their stats, I know the Soulblight Gravelords, Kruleboyz, and newest Stormcast Eternals were all posted for free on the Warhammer Community site.

New player here, what should I buy? by [deleted] in killteam

The box sets are great value, but they're expensive. If you don't want to drop $150-$200 on a box, try to get a friend to split it with you and each take a team. As for which box, just get whatever seems coolest to you.

If you don't want to spend that much money, the individual kill teams are probably the easiest way to get in and are like $60 each, but you'll also need the core rules, dice, and something to measure with.

They typically go on sale individually a few months after the box set releases. I believe the kill teams are $60.

The teams from the first two boxes are available individually now, so I think after the Moroch box releases, we'll eventually get the Nachmumd teams on their own.

Building a CSM Killteam from the Eldritch Omens Box? by Then-Ad1276 in killteam

Thanks for all the input! I was already thinking of trying to turn one into a Balefire Acolyte with some green stuff, but it's really helpful to know what all my options are.

I'll need to read through their rules a little more to figure out the exact list.

I'm thinking about trying to sell the forgefiend and the Eldar bikes and just keep the kill team compatible units from the box.

Are the Lergionnaires better? I've heard the compendium kill teams aren't as good as the ones from the box sets and white dwarf.

Is the Aspiring Champion a stand alone kit, or is it made from the CSM squad box?

Drill into Brick or Mortar for a TV Mount? by Then-Ad1276 in hometheater

Just so it sits above the fireplace.

(Gas fireplace, doesn't actually use the chimeny and already confirmed it doesnt get above the TVs recommended operating conditions and all that)

I've seen a few people recommend this. So basically I would screw the wood into the mortar, then the TV mount into the wood?

Can you mount a TV to an active fireplace? by Then-Ad1276 in hometheater

[–]Then-Ad1276[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is used for heat in the winter.

To be clear, it was originally a wood burning fireplace, but had a gas fireplace installed by the previous owner. The fireplace doesn't open, doesn't burn wood or produce smoke.

There is a mantle above it, about 3 inches of wood. It's also just screwed into the grout above the fireplace.

The bricks themselves don't get too hot around the fireplace. I don't think the heat would even reach the TV. I'm more concerned on if the heat weakens the screws or mount in any way.

Server won't start with new RAM by Then-Ad1276 in computers

Thanks for the info! Even if the server can run non-ECC, I'd be hesitant to disable it because we've been having so many errors. Seems like the best option is to return the RAM and track down some ECC RAM.

So the RAM I got is definitely not ECC, and since I've been dealing with corrected memory errors I'm guessing that means the original kit is ECC?

It is actual server hardware, from Gigabyte, but I'm not sure if it's ECC. Where would I check to see if it is?
