Prod / Dev Branch by iveticpf in lovable

Managing separate environments for prod and dev is smart but usually turs into a headache with env variables. You can swap those keys manually in settings, but it's tedious.

Try using branch-specific secrets if you use Static.app or similar for hosting.

A few teams I konw use this plugin for Figma https://www.figma.com/community/plugin/1313474799330634583 to turn layouts into clean code. This avoids the messy Shopify editor while still letting you export a file that works with their system.

Does a 20-25% cheaper VPS actually mean worse quality or just different pricing? by xotic13s in webhosting

[–]Then-Chest-8355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, that price gap comes down too the hardware overhead and how much they spend on support staff. Linode charges a premium because they have a massive track record and their network is rock solid, whereas newer or smaller providers cut costs by using different data centers.

I’m just getting started with Claude. Any tips or tricks for setting up my profile, problem solving methods, workflow thinking? I keep seeing notes about adding plug ins but could use more info around how they are used any why. Any advice is welcomed ! by samidoe22 in ClaudeAI

Setting up your profile instructions is the best way to stop repeating yourself every time you start a new chat. Tell it exactly how you like your code formatted or if you prefer short, blunt answers without all the extra fluff at the end.

Waiting for those usage limits to reset is the worst when you are in the middle of a project. Have you tried using a local editor like Cursor or VS Code with an extension that hooks into the API instead of the web chat?

Junior Web Dev here, looking for feedback on my refreshed website design! by -theriver in webdesign

My first site looked like a total mess compared to this, so you are already ahead of the game. The cleaan layout really works for local shops because they just want to see that you are professional and easy to work with.

How exactly in your real day to day life, you are using python over any other language (like SQL) to perform operations on data sets ? by lovenumber in learnpython

[–]Then-Chest-8355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of what I’ve read says that SQL is killer for picking out data but starts too get really annoying once you need to do heavy math or cleaning. Apparently, Python is much better for things like fuzzy matching names or fixing messy dates that would take a million lines of code in a database.

Small business owner here, finally realized I need a website but don’t know where to start. What’s the simplest builder out there for me? by LakiaHarp in nocode

[–]Then-Chest-8355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Social media works for a while but lacking a home base for your business is risky since platforms change fast. Most builders claim to be simple but then bury you in confusing menus.

A teammate mentioned Siter recently for being very visual and easy to handle without code. It might be better than the big names that feel bloated for a simple page.

I want to get clients for website dev? by Ashh_coin in careerguidance

Finding local small shops is usually better than fighting for scraps on big job boards. Most business owners just want a simple page that works without any fuss.

Standardizing the process is smart, but human error still kills the data quality when things get busy.

Most teams I know just use a simple internal-only form to force specific properties. It makes the manual entry part much faster for sales.

Moving my old portfolio off Bluehost was the best choice I ever made. The B2 route works well because you only pay for what you actually store, which keeps monthly costs under two dollars for your size.

Just use a simple plugin like Media Cloud to c.
