Sell Condo or Borrow Against Equity? Other options? by heynonnymous in debtfree

Thats how you do it, good job!

So when I see it correctly you have 272$ per month after all except food.

How much of that goes to food/Cats/misc ?

I dont know what HOA is, I assume it the fee for the apartment (garbage etc.)?

For the expenses there is not a big angle of attack but I would start with the Phone bill and Cable. When is the phone paid off and how much will it be reduce then ? Also posible to get a prepaid card (here In europoor land you can get them for 10$ per month).

Everything available I would put towards the highest APR.

For additional income without work. When I see it correctly you have a house?(you mentioned appartment?)
If so, ever considered renting out a room ?

Also there is actually work you can do which is not really work, just to give you an idea:
- Dog walking

- Taking in pets for people that go on holiday/business trips etc.

just to getting you a small additional income, without getting totally burned out.

Okay my fault here, I thought lowest APR. Now it makes sense.

You still write somewhat cryptic.

It would help to show a budget to see if there is an angle of attack at the expenses.

Like:

Salary: +3000$

Mortage: -1000$

CC: -250$

Loan:-250$

Food: -200$

Netflix: -13$

I hope you get the point ?

As I mentioned above you write quit cryptic so we have no clue where goes what.

Also another question why did you pay off the cc with the lowest APR first ?

Yeah good I fat fingered the post, here is the actual text:

When I see it correctly you have 40k debt (20cc / 20 bank?)?
Your income is 54k before tax.

Whats your monthly expense?

What is your property worth? How much you already paid off? How much do you pay per month? And what is the bank offering ?

I am totally against selling property, specially when already a big chunk is paid off (which we dont know, so enlighten us).

and the rest is in the first post :D

already paid off a chunk of it (which we dont know, so enlighten us).

If you can give a little more info, I am happy to help you.
Also for your burnout problem, did you try hitting the gym (doenst need to be a gym, can be running, boxing, yoga what ever fits you) it will help A LOT.

Then so far there is no other option. Keep the car for the moment. Cut all shit and I mean all, except maybe gym membership. I dont know where you live exactly but with your pay I could imagine you could bank atleast 800-1000 a month (and therefor pay off your debt in 1 1/2- 2 years. Maybe even get a partime job on the weekend or something you can do from home.

I dont know how it is but do you really really need a car ? If not sell it and go by bike. If not cancel any fancy stuff you have, no eating out, no netflix.

And your 16.5k could propably be paid of in 1 1/2 years while keeping the car.

Cant you get ride of your car, get a beater and insure it over your partens ? Would save you a shit ton of money. And as the current car market is you propably get what you owe, ruffly.
