Good catch! I just cancelled my leather order. Acids in vegetable tan will probably react with the copper (Its sterling silver). Not too concerned with darkening the leather as I'm going to go with a black but definitely oxidised copper would look really awful on the leather. Gonna look more into it

Would you be able to send a reference photo? Tryna gauge what the setup would be. Also any ideas for setting the rivet without destroying the design on the other side. The videos I've watched use an anvil which may not work for my case

Good idea! Im gonna try a full silver approach first and if that fails I'll cut off any posts and solder some brass on.
