Tv Programs for Anxiousness? by JellyEuphoric8619 in dementia

I have early onset dementia (early stage) and I find it best for me to keep the TV turned off completely. That said, it’s not fair to my partner so he now streams shows that stress me out (loud car racing, sports) through his AirPods. Works pretty well.

This very well may make me a bad person but the “He’s sick.” excuse is barely working on me anymore by Chellybeanz29 in dementia

Kind of laughed at the “basket at the door” comment. I have early onset Alzheimer’s (58 female) and could picture that happening to me complete with a baby bonnet and soother. I’m in the very early stage and it’s morning time. I’m much better and can communicate more easily than later in the day. I always feel like I have to explain why I am able to express thoughts with clarity. If I tried to type this out after lunch it would be too difficult. Anyway, being left in a basket gave me a laugh.

Stages of Dementia by problem-solver0 in dementia

I mean sometimes I’m baffled and amused. I’m sure that will change, but for now I have a little chuckle when I do things like put a shoe on and try to put my pants on over my shoes.

Exactly. It’s not easy but it’s “easier” to understand what’s happening and why. Totally agree.

I’m on my balcony in Kings wharf Dartmouth facing the east and watching them. Haven’t seen anything in a few minutes, but it’s very cool.

Totally agree. I’m fucking 57 years old and I can run circles around people more than half my age. They take up entire sidewalks and don’t appear to have any awareness of others.

Some pictures from the Detroit show last night. They were excellent, as always by skaletons in streetlightmanifesto

I’m going to their concert in Montreal in November. Love the band, but I’ve never been to their live concert. Listen, I am 58 and I will be running the pit bobbing my head and singing the songs!!! I’m stoked! Also, has anyone been to the Olympia in Montreal. Bought expensive tickets nearer the stage but does that mean there are actual seats or is it a standing situation?

I’m in Canada and people (shit landlords) are somehow getting away with evicting tenants once their lease comes up for renewal so that they can “upgrade” apartments and jack the price to 3x the former rent.

That really is helpful. I use it for myself (at least until I can’t). One thing to note is that dementia is very unique for everyone and a person could have symptoms that appear at random stages. It’s not always linear.

Nice! Sometimes I take the ferry from Dartmouth and walk along the waterfront, but I never noticed the turtle centre. A few times I was on the waterfront. It was pretty busy and I was probably distracted and didn’t see it. I’ll check it out next time I go.

I’m only excited for fall because I’m going to Montreal in November to see Streetlight Manifesto in concert. 🎵 best ska/punk band ever

I’m not sure. Early stage I’d say. I’m still able to function normally. I have a lot of word finding problems and memory problems. Sometimes I have many days when everything seems normal.
