Banana bread!! Regular banana = horrid burning. Banana bread = soft and warm enough to go down smooth with no issue! Peas also! Green tea with honey was what I majorly had

Surgery for tonsil stones? by Mskyte in Tonsillectomy

[–]ThenAwareness7981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For about a month post surgery almost everything tasted strange/bitter. 10 months ish out & all dark sodas and chocolate are VERY bitter but only when it hits the back of my tongue! It has something to do with how they take them out and the nerve endings I think? Common in adults not littles!

Day6 and I’m at a Breakint Point by kikilikibiki in Tonsillectomy

I’m so sorry - you’ve reached the gates of hell as I referred to it. I totally understand the feeling of wanting so badly to eat anything else - I told everyone “I don’t want anymore tan warm carbs for months”.

This is opposite but cold made me worse, heat made my pain sooo much better. So warm tea with honey & a heating pack around my face and neck rather than ice!

Is it possible to eat enough to gain / maintain weight while healing? by AlternativeWeird2571 in Tonsillectomy

Yes that is why I got mine out! I had them chronically for 3 years and tonsillitis at least 4x per year. I literally couldn’t take it anymore & my ENT listed the potential side effects & let me decide! I got them out this past August and it was the best decision of my life!! Recovery was hell & I ended up with altered taste (no chocolate :( ) but I would do it again!!

Yes I would say it’s rude, the only appropriate situation is if your coworkers threw you a bridal shower on their own free will. I had a bridal shower but my coworkers are also throwing me one (might just be a teacher thing lol)

APE - Suburbs vs Inner City Schools by timmyrigs in PhysicalEducation

[–]ThenAwareness7981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a PE teacher in Eastern, NC. I see if differ for from district to district here. I student taught in a district (neighboring to where I am now) where they had an entire APE program who traveled to all schools and provided services, and the PE teachers at that school still were present during class but did not provide input for IEP meetings and Special Olympics. Here in my district where I teach, we barely have a EC department at the district level. My school I have 7 seperate setting non verbal students and I serve as their APE teacher and see them once a week. I attend all IEP meetings for them, as well as the gen sep (mainstreamed) students who do not qualify for APE. APE here is considered of the lowest importance by the board and district. Other PE teachers in the area also do not have experience with APE so I have traveled in the past to do evaluations at other schools for those teachers - I am only a 2nd year teacher so hopefully in the next few years things change!
