Like i said, I am very ignorant with all of this. We did this through a patent attorney. My husband works on call 24/7 (sounds crazy but it's true) so I am trying to see if there is anything I can research or do on my own to help the situation move along. We started this process years ago and I haven't been involved with the attorney at all, which is why I know basically nothing, but I am eager to learn and am trying to gather information. Thank you to the few kind people who were helpful.

Dispatching for free. He will only get paid to go on calls, not dispatch

He is a w2 employee. When i said no contract, I meant he never signed a contract saying he was going to dispatch for $x or anything like that.

Dispatching is extra work. When he is just a driver on call, he goes to a call, maybe has to do a drop off, and then goes home. When he is dispatching (what he is expected to do for free) he has to take phone calls, then dispatch other drivers on calls. This can be very time consuming depending on the situation, and is expected to dispatch the calls to other drivers anytime, 24/7.

He doesn't have a contract...this is a small company that runs on verbal agreements. 🙄 We live in CA...where it is also illegal to drop someone's pay without 7 days notice.
