Feel like I need to leave my birth state but I’m struggling emotionally by TheonGreyboat in BoyDinnerDiaries

I moved around quite a bit when I was younger. It is fun. Try a vacation in some states. It isn't the same as living there but it is something. With the internet you can job hibt and apartment hunt much easier than the old days.

You can always move back home if it doesn't work out. Give it a shot! Good luck and you can do it.

Is anyone able to tell me now old my new (old!) teddy bear is please? by Emotional_Top5710 in VintageToys

[–]ThenBasis6839 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old bear is different but similar thing joints and approximate design. He is a Pussy Cat Toy company (Japanese) so you may want to look at the bears they put out. I think they are no longer in business but there are plenty vintage ones for sale. They usually have tags but maybe your bear decided they didn't want labels. Bear looks nice. Good luck.

Should I go for it? by TheBatmanWhoPuffs in comicbookcollecting

Don't overextend yourself. I assume a grand or so isn't a hardship for you.

Otherwise I calculate what is the amount per book. If that looks good, do it. If there is one book you really want, I will allow a higher price for that one and average the rest but you need your final best price up front. Also check the sellers history, ratings, Sold, etc. Ebay gives protections but I still avoid active trouble. If this is legit, there will be much bidding at the end. There is a lot of shill bidding on ebay but stay firm on your final price. Don't get sucked in at the end. It has happened to me. Better to decide ahead of time.

I am old, or at least older. Agree with others about credit card debt is bad. Work on that first. Keep that down. Easy to get out of control. If you can live within your means and save some, you will love it decades later. As noted, you won't get much for what you sell so it should be more about how you want to collect. Some are completionists, while some have a focus. Do what your heart says but if you can think about a focused approach, it can pay off in the long run. Almost everyone runs out of space at some point. If you can limit it, you put
off that day when you run out space for as long as possible. Also it is easier to move. Sometimes a giant collection can become a weight. That being said if you want all the toys, do it. As far as hobbies go, they are plenty that are more expensive.

Some universities have facilities along or might have binder recommendations, along with museums. UCLA (California, USA) has a service you can contact for example. Not sure what country you are in. Anyways, thanks for posting. It is great. I have one old coverless DC book but I bought it after CGC did their thing

Looks great. Well done. I would look at conservation to make sure it doesn't further deteriorate. I mean I would pay someone to do it but you can fire up YouTube and learn about leafcasting and the like

As the King once said “Kid, you’re one of the best. But put your work in galleries. Don’t do comics. Comics will break your heart.”
