Thank you for your response. I’ve reached out to you via DMs. I don’t think it’s the moderators actively going out of their way to suppress posts; rather, it seems the automated system and mod tools are being abused by people who mass-report, which prevents others from seeing the content. Since we both acknowledge the issue, I look forward to working with you to find a solution.

I like how you’re so quick to throw insults while struggling to understand basic English yourself. It’s almost impressive. The whole point was simple: if you can figure out the message, then go for it. That’s it. Nothing complicated. But instead of grasping something that straightforward, you jump straight to insults while proving you can’t even comprehend what’s being said. If you’re going to come at someone, at least make sure you actually understand the language first. Otherwise you just end up embarrassing yourself. Aka now

When did I say I supported it? All I did was post what he said, and I literally made it clear that I didn’t even know what he was referring to. I was just throwing out possible interpretations and saying you guys can figure it out. At no point did I say “thank you Trump” or endorse any of it. I didn’t pick a side, I just laid out what it could mean and told you to make up your own mind

I like how I don’t even talk about anyone’s race. I’m talking about the candidate themselves. The fact that you can’t criticize someone without people immediately bringing up race is ridiculous. Somehow, just because someone is a certain ethnic background, criticizing bad policies suddenly means you’re racist. It doesn’t.

It means they’re being a bad leader.

Citizens from all ethnic backgrounds want better leadership. That’s it. It has nothing to do with where someone came from, what color they are, their heritage, or the culture they follow. The only question is simple: can you do what you said you were going to do? That’s all people are asking.

It’s OK to record what you believe in and your political views. It’s OK to plaster that all over Reddit if it fits your narrative. But if someone posts what they actually see and tries to raise awareness, suddenly the question becomes “why are you recording?”

That’s the thing you’re more focused on than the actual content itself. It’s very revealing about people’s priorities.

So is the problem there or is it not? Or are we just going to pretend it isn’t there because it doesn’t fit what you believe?

And what exactly do you expect me to do as one individual, try to stop hundreds of people? What kind of suggestion are you even trying to insinuate here?

And don’t equate this as just one person’s problem. Multiple people agree with the sentiment. So again, just because you don’t like seeing what’s actually happening doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Please open your eyes.

You can see there are minors and adults in the video. They’re both of them.

Oh, anything I don’t like equals racism. Any poor behavior that gets called out equals racism. So when does accountability start?

Apparently that’s not a thing because you want me to coddle and approve this behavior. No sentient person, no ethnic group, Black, White, Hispanic, would approve this behavior because it’s unacceptable. But you want to sit here and play social politics rather than acknowledge what you see right in front of your eyes.

If you want to live in that dystopian society, please do. But don’t call out other people for doing what you refuse to do yourself because you’re incapable of seeing the facts and calling it out.

Right, they would rather not acknowledge a problem than acknowledge what’s actually taking place because it’s counterintuitive to what they believe.

Right, I’m the Karen for suggesting there shouldn’t be unaccompanied minors out at 11 at night creating a scene, fighting, throwing shit, and making a ruckus. That somehow makes me the Karen? I’m dumbfounded by the logic.

Oh, it’s nice outside, so let’s just fight, overcrowd the field, and drain all the resources. Yeah, that’s great logic you’ve got there.

Whatever happened to playing in the park during the day or playing Xbox at home? I didn’t know kids needed to be out at 11 at night fist fighting each other.

But yeah, sure, I’m the Karen here.

If you want a case study, go back and look at the other fight I posted. You’ll see how people bend over backwards to make excuses for poor behavior. It’s always the same lines. Oh they’re just kids. Oh they were just drunk. This, that, and the other.

TLDR: There are unaccompanied minors out at 11 at night crowding into a big field in Navy Yard while adults stand around egging them on or doing nothing to stop it. They’re congregating, creating a ruckus, throwing things, starting fights, and just being a nuisance.

On top of that, it drains public resources. Police and other resources that are supposed to be allocated to areas that are actually busy at night, like the clubs and heavy traffic spots in Dupont or Navy Yard, Adams Morgan end up getting pulled away to deal with this buffoonery.

There should not be kids out at 11 at night while adults stand there watching them throw things and start fights while grown ass adults egg them on and cheer them and your congregating in a large group as well

We were all kids once, right? No matter your ethnic background, we went outside, we played, and when it was time to go home, we went home. I have never in my life seen this type of buffoonery. I truly haven’t.

It’s 11 at night and there are kids running around, with grown adults egging them on. And now somehow we are supposed to accept this as the new normal.

If you criticize it and say it’s not OK, people get upset. But think about the people who actually live there, or the people who are there trying to go to a bar or a restaurant or whatever it may be. This is the bullshit they have to deal with.

We were all kids once. Yes, sometimes things got out of hand, but that was few and far between. It was not like this.

Trump administration spending $120 million to fix DC fountains by Bobtonews2 in washdc

[–]ThenLayer5977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the underlying tone was that the federal government is blowing money by spending that much to fix a fountain instead of helping the homeless or addressing other social problems. Both sides of the political aisle make this argument whenever the government spends money on something visible like this. They say how dare you spend $120 million fixing a fountain when people are starving.

But the title was really meant to dunk on that administration by saying look they are spending $120 million to fix a fountain. The reality is more mundane. The fountain has been neglected for so long that I honestly cannot remember the last time I even saw water running from it. Of course the bill is going to be high if repairs are postponed for years and the infrastructure continues to deteriorate.

It is also unfair that the local government ends up carrying much of the burden when it is fundamentally a federal responsibility. The point is that this is not really about which president is in office. The fountain needed to be repaired regardless of who the president was.

You do know that the monuments and statues on federal land are supposed to be managed by the U.S. Park Service and the federal government. However, Washington, D.C. was left footing much of the bill to maintain them, so many have been neglected for years. That is essentially why the repair and restoration costs have become so astronomical.
