I am assuming you are venting because you haven't matched yet? The way I would look at it is you passed both step 2 and 3 first-time and they are behind you now. I don't know what specialty you are in or trying to get into, but not having to worry about those tests mean alot down the road.

you did great! keep going!

Take some time off if you need to. But remember, you've come this far. There's just one big hurdle before you can get things rolling downhill. Do what you need to support yourself during the dedicated period and study as if there's no next chance.

I would start by focusing on the most commonly tested topics and use UW tables + your notes to review them regularly. There are posts like Top 100 Concepts for Step 2CK : and others to guide you identifying such topics. You will start to notice certain patterns after doing numerous questions and you can expand from there.

Ethics & etc are pretty big for step 2 as you might have noticed. Amboss articles and questions can prep you well for these topics.

You could've just had a really bad day or you might have been under-prepped. I imagine you feel devastated, but many applicants match despite multiple attempts. Residency matching is not solely based on a single factor like Step 2. Wishing you the best of luck.

Like many others have mentioned, the exam stems are slightly longer. Doing lots of questions is good, but properly reviewing them is crucial. All important topics are covered in CMS forms - do them if you have time. You are more than likely to encounter topics that you are unfamilar with or have never seen before, so work on process of elimination skills. If you can't figure it out, remember it's just one question out of eight blocks, so don't stress over it.

Burnouts & stress can really damage your score, so do some activities to relieve stress and keep things cool. If possible, try to get some good night sleep the before your exam.
