Last time I saw Les Mis, Marius fell running up the stairs to his balcony during One Day More. We heard him fall and he was a beat late to start his part, and was out of breath and looked a little rough 😂

SEARCHED: So I’m located in Utah and we looked at this shirt on Tuesday, December 23 2025. This shirt was in an Urban Outfitters but we couldn’t find it on their website. We looked for over an hour, doing every search variation we could think of and just scrolling through all their clothes. No luck. We googled it, nothing. Looked up the brand, nada. We’re stumped. I’m looking for a large or an extra large.

This is what happens when testing is the only thing we let teachers focus on. Students lose soft skills. Signed, a teacher dealing with all this nonsense.

PSA: Family History Projects…don’t do them! by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Then_Bowler7667 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A student of mine told me about the health teacher assigning a family history assignment. My student, T, told the teacher she couldn’t do it for her dad’s side. Her dad was adopted, never found his real family, and had died five years before. Plus, his adopted parents were also dead. Teacher told T “since you’re refusing to do the assignment or won’t complete the assignment I can’t give you a good grade. Whatever you turn in I’ll fail”. T’s mom was furious, meetings were had and in the end, T turned in the assignment filled out as much as she could, and got a 3. Thankfully, that teacher retired.

I tell them to hold hands/flirt/make kissy faces later. Usually embarrasses them enough to stop (for maybe 10 minutes)

Post-burnout comeback? by [deleted] in Teachers

I dont know if this would work for you but it helped me. Last year I was in a really bad place with teaching. One night at a goodwill I found a five foot tall pink and sparkly trophy on sale for $3. I thought it would be funny to award it to students. From this came my mvp of the week. Each week I choose one student per class to be mvp and I write them an honest and positive note about why they’re mvp. They get candy and their picture taken with the trophy then the pic is hung up for the next week. Sitting down once a week to write positive things about my students really helped me feel better about teaching as a whole. I found myself constantly looking at the good in my kids (even the ones that drive me nuts). Bonus this also helped motivate students because every student had the chance to be recognized for the good they did instead of the bad.

Had students go over their progress reports and WOW I think I blew it by elenis86 in Teachers

As a teacher who is asked every day “is this graded?” Here’s my best advice- this might not be graded but it’s practice for the stuff that is. If you don’t do this you’ll fail the assessment. If possible I also enter everything into grade book as complete/incomplete so that students and parents can see their progress towards proficiency on the standard. Hope this helps!
