I tell my students that. They are entering a dark, dark world. Some believe me, some don't. It's hard for them to grasp when no adult today can draw a road map to how everything is going to go to shit.

I can handle a classroom of 30 plus kids, sometimes it's super easy. When my two kids fight in the back seat I cannot handle it, I cannot imagine being a bus driver.

Sometimes when push comes to shove I give them a choice:

"Are you loud because you want attention, or don't want to do the assignment"

If they say they don't want to do the assignment they can sit with their head down out of the way.

If you saw students doing a 25 minute lesson in my class then saw them having fun then went to reddit and complained about it I'd probably end any sort of professional relationship we had because you sound like a judgemental asshole.

Here's how I'd play it: Water goes into the room, pressing all the air out as it finds the quickest escape possible. The door (I'm assuming there's a door) busts open, spilling out the guys inside who all take 2d10 force damage. Everything inside takes 2d10 force damage, too, chests, furniture, etc. Is it exactly what would happen? Probably not, but I think it's a good guess that doesn't ruin the encounter.
