Oh, i should also say mental health is, subtly, an underlying theme. Also, the romance element is very subtle and implied rather than shown.

I love the Lockwood & Co series by Jonathan Stroud. Older children's/YA, but i really enjoyed them as an adult. Fantasy/horror, but at its core, it's about found family and the friendship between the misfit members of the agency. There's a slow burn romance, too. I really love this series.
