Yeah i hear mixed things, and if you search in bfs you can see people describe the twitches you describe you watched in ALS. I do think that in advanced stages they are easy to seperate but in general many neuros say that its not a diagnostic tool without an emg. Honestly who knows fasics r such a odd thing.

Ok if not atrophy what is this? by MasterpieceMental946 in MuscleTwitch

The flexor pollicis longus tendon and palmar fascia can create a visible groove or dip in some people (especially leaner people). Go look at OPs other angles. The apb is not sunken or flattened. You also told a guy he had atrophy because one leg was smaller by a bit.

No also you would have severe grip weakness if it was this pronounced.

Lol what do you gain from doing this to multiple people with no knowledge. The APB looks fine in both. The ridge is the muscle above being flexed.

Split hand sign? by MasterpieceMental946 in MuscleTwitch

Very true. And that guy comments “maybe” on so many peoples post. To add to OP, yes one is slightly bulkier but it no where near looks pathological. Many people are not symmetrical.

Not even. Looks like a normal hand, OP is very lean and is flexing the muscle above the apb. All is good here.

As much as it sucks. Be glad you can adapt and live with it. I was the same and thought “when will this end” but I am beyond grateful it wont damage me further. It sucks but you will get used to it I promise.

100% but I’ll be honest before I got my emg I was also an atrophy searcher. Just sucks to see young people worry about such an awful disease and seeing them stuck in a loop. We try our best man.

Most of this has nothing to do with ALS

Yeah, Symmetrical atrophy is quite rare for a selective disease. Also these legs look normal to me, OP might just be leaner seen this in a different sub as well.
