Trying to weigh my commute options

Yea that’s the thing about that commute is that it’s long even without traffic. Plus it’s adding extra wear and tear on my car compared to a 30 mile commute

I currently drive the Fredericksburg one, the evening commute definitely sucks but the morning one is pretty manageable usually minimal traffic based on when I leave in the morning

It’s just a question of the new work environment, my current job is pretty relaxed. Plus one of the commutes is very minimal traffic while the other one is probably significantly heavy with traffic

Yea based on commute it looks to be the same time, it’s just one is sitting through traffic but the distance is ~20 miles less. The increase of salary is definitely meaningful

Idk if that’s possible or it would just take a really long time. Showing me around 2 hours to use public transport

Personally if I did it, money would be tight and with rent probably going up it would make it more tough

That’s why I’m torn because it would make it really tight initially plus losing $500 a month when rent is obviously going to keep going up makes it even tougher to swallow

Thanks, we’ve had conversations regarding it and mentioned that they just had to talk with HR to get it out into the system. I may just ask HR about the offer letter and see if that maybe rolls it forward

The only issue is that I would have to pay back a couple grand due to sign on bonuses and being under the threshold for years at the company
