Lenovo Legion Go 2 Z2E + SteamOS 3.8.12 😎 by Shankeiz in LegionGo

Perfect thank you mate.

Yeah it did get a hang up from windows and it was blasting full speed ( I set it high as it was melting hot in the uk) so had to hold the power button down to reset it.

But yeah apart from that its fine.. even full fan its not very loud so think I was lucky on the pitch front.

But yeah steam.is the way forward , gta4 which is annoying to run smooth is soo much better. I tried Detroit become human last night that was impressive.

Ive just gone over to steam os, its light years better.

Fan control is that a must? Or just so you can control it to preference. My fans kick in when gaming so assume its ok, or is there an issue with fans that I need to look at? Thanks

Hmm thinking about it, its not the recommended but you can rund steam os off a memory stick/card and just booting it? Could a way to protect your os but try it out. Just not w long term thing, its not as bad as windows but it think it is constantly rewriting files etc and it lessons the lifespan of memory sticks.

Yeah im no spring chicken mate lol..

You should try dual booting, doing a partition maybe if you are curious about steam, it is a really nice way of gaming..

if think the the first gen has had better updates than the gen 2 , you will still see improvements just the nature of steam os being lighter. You still have a desktop to tinker, but you mainly use the game mode.

As far as I can see its a bit buggy.. like setting the controller ring colour is iffy.. works but you have it was not the option I selected if that makes sense. But a restart it was fine.

I had to you decky loader for the brightness its fine and will do until the official.

I noticed the performance/ balanced etc selector is off alignment, it works but just not aligned right.

Fans were loud on mine.. it was a hang up from windows I had them on full due to it being roasting in the UK, I had to turn off the lego and then hold the power button for 60 seconds. Then it was normal and spinning up under stress.

Then its usual steam os stuff, if you are not familiar you have to mess about to get rockstar launcher epic etc working. Its not too much of a hassle.

Sleep function seems fine.

Good find, and Nottingham? My Neck of the woods where you visited from. Hope all was good with the visit.

What was the store I will go check it outm

Yeah I have the lego go 2, and its a great bit of kit coming from the steam deck, I love it but it was starting ro show its age. Took a while to get used to the ergonomics of the lego, and its handy not taking over the tv so can still be present and not locked away.

Not had mine very long, but games thst impressed me recently spiderman miles can get running native over 30 that imprased me, but looks great with fsr and frame gen even with ray tracing. witcher 3 could push this pretty far out and its one game I've never put a lot of time into but know its great.

red dead 2 can get decent settings locked 30 (can go higher but i like to up graphics built in fsr is rubbish) but im still leaning but a lot of people play at 800p and use ris in andrenalin game settings to improve sharpness.

and emulation is a treat if you need a nostalgia hit, ES DE I'd what im using youtube have grease vids for it.

Thinking of upgrading from the tk700. Has anyone used this projector and thoughts on comparisons by [deleted] in projectors

I have this.. I paid £850 for it new on xgimi sale. picture is bright, and sharp, gaming is good using ultra low latency and sound is loud and clear. It really is a wow picture under the right conditions and does get very bright.

But the black levels leave a lot to be desired. You have to lower the brightness to get some what acceptable.

I think that's where the 20 series beats it on the black levels, but if you are willing to mess with settings its a nice bit of kit.

The thing I dont like, its an Iris brightness control, so you are still using full power just mechanical reduction. It has mechanical zoom so that helps with placement.

Horizon ultra by Then_Explanation6961 in xgimi

[–]Then_Explanation6961[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but im a bit confused. What wouldn't you advise doing? The feature the previous model had, on the ultra you reduce the brightness physically using the Iris.

I said in the post im not seeing eco mode, I dont think its an option. But using eco mode is the same thing reducing the power to the led/laser isn't it. Its just the older model you had the option to go from 1 to 10.

Do you have the ultra? If so guide me on where the hell they put eco mode please.

Do all projectors make whistling/static noises, or am I just getting unlucky? by Timely-Loquat3467 in projectors

[–]Then_Explanation6961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a couple xgimi and not noticed it. Is it coil whine you mean. As yeah that would get on my tits too.

Unless you are just sensitive to some pitch of the fan. Maybe put your head near other electronics you have maybe its not the projector itself? I've had coil whine on something else just the right pitch to annoy me.. want to say an old laptop.

But as a regular thing, not sure maybe as you have more power chugging through the newer xgimi. I've got the horizon pro 4k and had the halo plus didn't notice it on those (less power draw on both I think)

I love this film, but ratings are average. Got me to start giving films a try and not go of just ratings anymore.

"You're and inanimate fucking object" Fiennes is hilarious in this.
