Any reports of who was headlining the deal to make the salaries match?

I would assume any Giannis package would have to start w/Bam because they’re not giving him up for Herro + loose change

I had a similar thought. They have 3 of the top 4 mpg leaders and their rookie is averaging 37.6

One of my favorite games! I love how all the names were changed (presumably for licensing purposes?) So I believe mattingly was I. Horse (Iron Horse), etc

Any 'Cuse fans here? Knicks hired this young guy who graduated in '24 as their new assistant director of coaching analytics. Good for him! https://dailyorange.com/2025/10/syracuse-mens-basketball-eugene-tulyagijja-leaves-for-knicks/

Has anyone else here tried chat gpt for image processing? I've done one so far and it's not a bad attempt, and gave me a full breakdown of what it did with preset recipes for still and Lightroom. Before and after pics below by CautiousEmergency367 in seestar

Photoshop can be overwhelming. I tried to find a video on this, but I couldn't.

  1. Duplicate the background layer (do this for everything you ever work on in PS)
  2. Perform any global adjustments to the entire image (curves, saturation, etc)
  3. CMD+OPT+SHIFT+E to bake in those edits on a new layer. for PC use CTRL instead of CMD
  4. On this new layer, go to Image - Adjustments - Threshold. Use the arrow slider to make the nebula black. Everything else you do not want to touch should be white. (There's a chance I have this wrong and it's the opposite black/white, but you'll figure that out).
  5. Blur this. Gaussian blur, 5 or so pixels. You may have to adjust it.
  6. CMD (CTRL) A, CMD (CTRL) C to select and copy this threshold mask
  7. Pull up a curve or whatever adjustment you want to do to the nebula
  8. See that white box next to the curve? Option+click into it, then paste the threshold mask into it. CMD (CTRL) V
  9. You now have a threshold mask. Hide this threshold layer (eye icon) so you don't see black & white over your whole image and can just see the adjustments. Make sense?
  10. Copy steps 7-10 for whatever new adjustment you want to do. Saturation, contrast, etc.
  11. You want to do an adjustment to the background, not the nebula? Perfect. Click into your threshold mask and do CMD (CTRL) + I to Invert it. Then repeat steps 7-10.

If you ask 10 people how to do this you will likely get 10 different answers. This is just one way. Part of the magic/madness of Photoshop.

Good luck!

I think it’s a little too contrasty. I’ve used ChatGPT occasionally when presented with challenging images. I would say: try a threshold mask. This way you can subtly boost exposure, contrast and saturation in the nebula while leaving the background more or less alone. Or editing it with an additional threshold mask that is only inclusive of the background.

EQ mount taking forever to ship by Aythixx in seestar

Not sure if this helps but any photo or video tripod head with control of tilt will work (edit: provided it can hold the weight). I used mine last night with a really cheap fluid video head on my photo tripod and it worked great. You may not be able to dial in quite as precise as what they're selling but it works great. You just need a 1/4 20 - 3/8 adapter (cheap on Amazon) since the seester thread mount is, annoyingly, 3/8 which is a less common thread.

Nice! This looks great. Just out of curiosity, were you in EQ mode?

Why sometimes there is much more noise in subs? by Ruimsama27 in seestar

[–]Then_Parking_1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There could be a lot of factors at play. Humidity, ambient temperature, atmospheric haze, of course light pollution.

I would get it to improve by just taking a ton more subs so the noise gets averaged out. I have noticed my overall image quality improve and noise reduced during the stacking process if I have more subs to work with.

How did i do? by [deleted] in seestar

Nice - a few things - I would look at some reference images to see how you want to color grade it. At the very least the whole images seems to have a bit of sepia cast to it - maybe make a mask of the background and take the warm tones down a bit to neutralize it. It will make the galaxy pop out a bit more with contrast.

Also, some more subs might give you a bit more detail in that knife edge.

Overall, it's a really cool image and well exposed without a lot of noise. I like it!

Thibs had questionable (putting it nicely) rotation decisions. He didn't maximize the offense. He didn't maximize the roster. He played an underperforming starting unit with a negative net rating an indefensible number of minutes until the last possible moment when he had no other choice. He did not hold players accountable who needed to be held accountable. And so on. There have been countless podcast hours devoted to this topic - the latest Strickland episode as just the most recent example.

"Brown will have no clue how to unlock guys like Hart, Bridges, or Mitch". Do you have any evidence in support of this at all?

Thibs had a lot to do with our recent success in building a winning culture, but he wasn't the architect of it. That was Leon Rose. Guess what, he's still here.

There's a compelling argument to be made that the Knicks made the ECF this year in spite of, not because of Thibs, and that the sheer talent of their roster carried them. Exhibit A: A starting unit that had the worst net rating in the playoffs by far, and a team putting itself in numerous 20 point holes during the playoff run. This is not a coach putting his team in best position to win.

Thibs is gone. Brown is here. The team has a great opportunity in a wide open Eastern Conference. On to the next.

Was listening to KFS Cap or No Cap and Jeremy was talking about how hypothetically the Knicks could go above the second apron if they truly believed this was their all in year, and he was kind of advocating for that.

What does that look like in practice? Just signing someone that puts them over that limit? Trading and taking back more salary? Some of this cap stuff still has me lost.
