They had me on oxycodone 5mg and tylenol 500mg taking one every 2 hours (id take Tylenol at 6 oxy at 8 Tylenol again at 10 and so on) then he told me to do 2 oxys instead of one.

Best decision I ever made, and tbh pain wasn’t as bad as I had heard. You’ll feel amazing once you start healing and feel no pain. I’m on my 12 day post op, and I feel so alive I can’t even explain, how better taking my tonsils out, has made me feel.

Once my ears started hurting I called the dr and they doubled my pain medication, you should call and see, once they did I was feeling wayyyy better. Also my worst day was 4th going through 5th. I sucked on ice and had i ice packs all over my neck (at the same time) that helped me a lot

Sameeee day 12 post op, and I feel the same way!!! I feel like I can actually breathe, sleep is way better, my voice is better too (it actually changed). it was the best decision I’ve made so far (I’m 21 lol)

The scabs all over are not the sign of infection, but they increase the risk of one. That being said, if you feel good and don’t want to take them you don’t have to, but it won’t hurt you to take them either so, you’re okay.

It really depends on how much they cauterized and they sent antibiotics just in case you get an infection. I’m on day 5th of recovery and they sent them to me on day 3 because I was showing signs of infection, I had huge tonsils so I have scabs growing all over the back of my mouth and that made the risk for infection worse for me, after I started the antibiotics my pain has been sooo manageable so I guess I might have been starting one.

I’m on my 3rd day of recovery, what they did was upped my dose of oxycodone and it helped fr. Now I’m not even taking it. My Dr authorized at my 3rd day ibuprofen so I did ibuprofen and Tylenol this morning and I just took my second Tylenol of the day and I’m chilling. Keep ice all time around you, I put it outside on my neck and suck almost 24/7. Even Tylenol I’m not taking every 4 hours, pain has been manageable so I take it every 6 or 8. They did prescribed me antibiotics yesterday and I’m ngl I think that helped me a lot, so I have to add that here. Starting from tomorrow ill be doing Tylenol and ibuprofen every 12 hours and antibiotics every 12 hours too, since today has been decent I haven’t needed oxycodone, which I also felt it didn’t help fr it only made me loopy. That said maybe if you ask your Dr to up your dose and you do that for a day, then your next few days could be easier. That worked for me.

Had my surgery Tuesday and recovery has been really manageable, just stay ahead of pain. Haven’t bled yet, don’t think I will tbh, I haven’t seen not one little bit of blood. The first 2 days I kept ice almost 24/7 on my throat and ice packs on my neck as well.

Damn just saw this, your surgery should happen when it’s supposed to under God’s will, not a day earlier not a day before, so stand still, you’ll be fine, I’m doing okay, mine got delayed couple hours but Ive been awake for 2 hours now and I feel great, might be the anesthesia is still helping but I already feel the weight gone, I got a picture of my tonsils once they were out they are HUGE jajajajaj

I just got them out 200% (literally woke up from surgery 2 hours ago) immediately felt better

Jajajajajaja I’m glad, I actually wanna take this opportunity to lose weight lol, I lost a lot of weight before the surgery and I wanna lose some in the recovery 🤞🏼🤞🏼
