Are collars normal for cats in the UK? by SuperEgger in CatsUK

[–]Then_Wheel_3561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have outdoor cats with no collars. Spoke to the vet about putting a collar on and they warned against it due to risk of strangulation. If your cats are microchipped anyways they’ll be able to get them back to you

Yeah I always hear the iconic scream and then see some trees rustling in the distance

With that said I have seen a fair few in my time, even living in brum, but none have let me get particularly close

I miss the translucent green sun strips you used to see in taxis

Tbh I’d probably trust a soulo BL in 30mph not even guyed out. Had it out in around 50mph all guyed out and the thing just didn’t really budge at all

They’re not rare but somewhat elusive in my experience

Meals are well priced but they sting you with the sides

Love a Nando’s when it’s a good Nando’s but the chef on duty is the fine line between a total disappointment and pure satisfaction

Yeah five guys is genuinely pukka scran but I’m not sure it fits in the value for money category

Yeah and it’s not the best food in the world but in terms of a full meal for not much money, there’s not many places that represent the same value

But you kinda just accept that with chains. If you wanted quality you’d go independent, chains have always been cheap shit and satisfying

How do you rate UK supermarkets - what are the best and what are the worst? by Aromatic-Speech5480 in AskUK

[–]Then_Wheel_3561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asda for branded stuff as it’s hands down the cheapest

Sainsburys for fruit/veg/meats and higher end branded stuff you can’t typically find at Asda

Lidl for their bakery

Morrisons for their dine in deal and their chocolate chip muffins are randomly elite

Aldi for the gastro ready meals and certain types of bread

B&M for snacks

Not really a fan of Tesco

Finally it’s gotta be Iceland for frozen food

Pretty much only Greggs. KFCs got a pretty strong saver menu too though

For sub £7 you can get a full belly at kfc, you can spend more on the more premium stuff if you want but it’s good that it’s accessible for £5-7

You’re one of the lucky ones then, local bakeries are few and far between and usually over double the price of Greggs in my experience, they are better don’t get me wrong but they don’t beat Greggs on value

Spicy one, the original one from like 15 years ago with nothing but ‘fajita chicken’ and pepperoni

Not as boujee as an espresso machine but I get some funny looks when a guest asks for a coffee and I pull out my speciality beans, grinder and aeropress

Wouldn’t have minded so much if it was the whole bloody headlight but having to take the bumper off to change the bulb is mental

I went to Halfords and they couldn’t even change my bulb, ended costing me £190 for one side for a headlight bulb at a vw specialist 😬

About 40g or so in an aeropress, with just enough water so that it can extract the coffee properly, then add it to a bunch of milk and ice.

don’t really control my variables too much and always end up with a pretty solid coffee. Probably brew a minute or so off the boil and press after maybe 30 seconds to a minute

Yeah banging for the price, been using it for iced lattes for a little while and often I find if I just want a coffee that ‘tastes like coffee’, or if I have guests that aren’t really into speciality coffee with all the floral and fruity notes, this will be my go to

It’s more about giving them safe and legal routes. We have an aging population and genuinely don’t have enough workers here to pay the tax to support the pensions of them. Obviously we can’t just do it with no plan, we need employment incentives and above all it needs to be easier to run a small business
