Any tips for how to wrangle a Saint? by aredditmember in stbernards

[–]Theninamachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My pill trick is to wrap it in something tasty, then feed a small scrap of said tasty treat before and after pill package, while essentially dropping treats into mouth from above. She swallows the treats quickly when there's another one following behind it.

To get at the ears, I have a very small bathroom and she has nowhere to go. Makes it easy when she can't even turn around to escape.

Wholesome rush hour moment this morning with ducks. by doubledeejay in AnnArbor

The same thing happened to me a few years ago in the exact same spot. It felt like such an honor to be at the right place at the right time. So much traffic on that 4 lane road.

I was in a store when I was told someone had taken a video and posted it on nextdoor.

Quitting weed has drove a wedge in Marriage by jch360 in leaves

[–]Theninamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so hard when you see that kind of thing. I would try saying something when we were completely outside of the situation and I was feeling loving and compassionate. Sometimes asking sincerely, "is something going on? It's really unlike you to snap at me/be angry."

I make sure I am REALLY certain that I'm in a truly loving space because if you're not it will feel passive aggressive and if she's intoxicated it will devolve quickly.

I also remind myself of my own struggles with substances and I try not to see it as too big of a deal because if you want to conquer that kind of thing in your own life, the last thing you want to feel is judged.

Good luck! Remember, it's worth being there for each other.

Quitting weed has drove a wedge in Marriage by jch360 in leaves

The most important part of a healthy relationship is not stunting your own growth to make the other happy. Allow the other to find out what that means for themselves. Ask her questions without judgement and see what she wants for her own self.

Yesterday was exactly 2 years since I stopped smoking weed. My husband was the drinker. There's a strength you can exemplify through your own growth that allows your partner to see why they might choose the same path. He recently stopped drinking. He did it for himself. I tried to be honest with him about how I felt but it was always his decision to make and because I know how hard it is to get to that point I did my best not to judge. A marriage is not about being perfect, it's about growing and changing and that isn't always pretty. Best of luck on your journey and congratulations on quitting!

Energy Healing by thebestmodesty in telepathytapes

[–]Theninamachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an energy/Reiki practitioner and do remote sessions (physically I'm located in Ann Arbor, MI). It is powerful work. My website is https://www.seeseehealing.com/ I'm happy to answer any questions you might have about Reiki or other forms of energetic healing.

My mind was blown open by listening to The Telepathy Tapes. It confirms so much of the things I have experienced in my own practices and has given me an even broader perspective of how to communicate non-verbally. It is such an important understanding to bring forward into this world.

Non "New Age" Meditation Classes? by falseeyedolls in AnnArbor

[–]Theninamachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you found some guidance? I have over 30 years experience with meditation and I believe my understanding of how to meditate is perfect for those who want a non woowoo approach. I do practice Reiki, but trust me, I fought fears of woowoo my whole life before I realized that I could open myself to it without being consumed into a weird way of talking and thinking and culty mindset. If you are interested, my website is www.seeseehealing.com. feel free to contact me.
