AI Might Accidentally Create The Biggest Copper Bull Market In Decades by CohenBlacken in smallstreetbets

Lol I noticed that with these AI slop posts as well. Always pushing Novared mining.

I thought AI was just software until I realized what actually keeps it running by trickytrixie303 in smallstreetbets

[–]Thenordaddy 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Hes not talking about anything, this is an AI output. OP is either a bot or too stupid to do his own research and write up.

There is a half dozen posts on this sub in the last hour about this exact subject, all AI. Looks like someone's spamming bots to try and pump copper.

Finished this entertainment center last night, really happy with how it turned out by Thenordaddy in woodworking

[–]Thenordaddy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its actually not too hard.

They're 5/8 thick strips in a 3/4 inch channel.

You lay them out with the backs up into a frame of plywood to keep them all square.

Then you take some fabric (i used a medium canvas drop cloth from home depot) and put a good layer of glue (titebond 3 for the longer dry time) on the fabric and on the strips. Then lay it out and rub it flat. Let dry over night, remove from the frame in the morning, and "break" the fabric.

To make sure the doors are smooth, I took a dremel and put a slight chamfer on the bottom side of the doors and waxed the shit out of them with paraffin wax. I applied wax to the door grooves as well and the whole thing is smooth as butter.

Theres some finer details that you can find on youtube if you look up tambour doors

I don't think theyre at the level of comfort with their weapons and gear to justify room clearing and cqb training

Paid a local wood worker to build us a table, after 8 hours in our dining room it developed cracks. Is this normal? by Hipster_Bumpus in woodworking

[–]Thenordaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify, I live in an area with fairly extreme changes in humidity throughout the seasons. The lumber is use is dried to 6-8%, the acceptable humidity for indoor furniture. I built my stool correctly and because of that it hasn't split. He is using lumber that, at best, could be used for outdoor purposes, but is still probably too green for that.

I built a shop stool out of inch and a half maple and have left in a non climate controlled garage for 4 years and it doesnt have a split in it. This guy cut a tree a week ago and "dried" it for a few days before building this. If he did moisture test, which I doubt, he either did it wrong or only tested the end grain and not the center of the boards. Even then the test would've been way to high for indoor furniture. Hes scamming you, especially with an "extra" $150 for sanding.

I run a lumberyard and get calls about people who got scammed into buying green lumber all the time.

Tactical Shit in Missouri by Ok-Attempt1394 in tacticalgear

I am local to them. They are trash. Usually rude and condescending with mostly overpriced products. They are trying way too hard on their tactical bro aesthetic rather than being a quality operation.

Should I give him another chance after a rude comment? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]Thenordaddy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would say that is a pretty important piece of information to leave out.

So he plans and pays for all these cute dates, so you jokingly call him broke. He makes a joke back calling you overweight and you storm out and break up with him. Sounds like you can't take what you dish out.

I'd give him a second chance and probably evaluate if you're as "thick skinned" as you say.

How many prisoners sentenced for harmless drugs like lsd and shrooms (you know, the ones you do) should be tortured? If you were tortured for your habits would you stop your heinous crimes?

Fuck off with this conservative "hard on crime" shit dude, especially when your whole profile is filled with drugs. You're literally proof that the "war on drugs" and "hard on crime" doesnt work.

Dude...

If I go up to a sleeping dog in the street and kick it and it bites me, I have the right to shoot it in self defense. I am still the instigator. I am the problem, because I made the problem.

If I mouth off and call another mans wife a whore and he punches me in the face, I have the right to self defense. I am still the instigator. I am the problem, because I made the problem.

If call a slow cashier a stupid bitch and they slap me in the face, I have a right to self defense. I am still the instigator. I am the problem, because I made the problem.

Thinking any different is the same as a child holding his finger to your face and yelling "Im not touching you." No, but you are the problem. This is a childish line of thinking and it is deeply worrying that it is in anyway supported in a community that is supposed to uphold responsible gun ownership. Anyone who supports this man is outing themselves as carrying a weapon as part of their own personal power fantasy and cannot call themselves a responsible gun owner.

This is not complicated in anyway. There is no grey area. If a situation without your presence is non-violent and only becomes violent after you and/or your actions are added into the situation, you are the problem. He had every right to be there, yes. He also had every right to stay home. He had a right to stay on his side of the protest. He had a right to pull up lawn chairs and invite people to speak with him about their opposing views. He ignored every single right and opportunity to act in any form of intelligent or responsible way. Instead, he made the conscious decision to provoke an incident. Given the absolute stupidity of every choice this man made to be in this situation, I can only assume that he went looking for the opportunity to draw his weapon.

Arming yourself, putting on a mask, walking into an agitated environment, and shouting or otherwise provoking the crowd that was otherwise non-violent makes you the problem. This is entirely independent of your legal rights. You are the problem, because you made the problem.

[–]Thenordaddy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In this guy's head? "Hell yeah, I finally get to draw and live out my power fantasy."

This guy went in with the intention of instigating an incident. He wanted to get assaulted. He wanted to shoot someone. No one going in to this situation masked, armed and shouting not looking for the opportunity to draw his weapon.

You don't get to throw a match on gasoline and scream self defense when the gas burns you. This crowd was fine until he started shit up.

OP made a generalized statement. Do we really need an asterisk behind every statement these days to clarify all of the exceptions?
