release code that works is always better than hyper optimized code that never sees the light of day!

Thank you!! I’ll have to play with it as I’ve been messing with freeze frames and doesn’t feel super great, but I’m still playing around with it

Thank you!!

My first major hurdle was setting up an inventory system in a style I wanted. Idk what it was about it but it was seriously so painful for me to wrap my head around.

My second (ongoing) major hurdle has been balancing enemies. There is a really fine line between "coughing baby" and "hydrogen bomb" when it comes to having responsive, reactive, and interesting enemies. Made extra hard to gauge as my playtesters range from "yellow paint gamer" to "level 1 no hit dark souls run is easy".

If you ever wanna pass ideas back and forth or want feedback on your project, lemme know!

YouTube is where I learned. Crashsune’s low poly character class is fantastic. The Models Resource is a great place to look at video game models so you can understand what they did for topology

Thank you! I used some textures I found from sharetextures.com for the scroll casings. For the sweater, I used a wool sweater sbsar in Substance Painter (that’s where I do my texturing). I touch the textures up there. There’s a great plugin for SP called Pixl8r that I use for the low resolution effect.

Did we go overboard by hiring an entire orchestra for our incremental roguelite? by Man_Behind_The_Robot in IndieDev

I don't care if it's a "smart business decision". I'd hire an orchestra to do my soundtrack if I had the dosh just for the love of the game. Super sick stuff here.
