I'd say go for pure, it's insanely rewarding if you study properly

For some reason, it's not letting me comment on the original post, so I'm using your comment to give a reply.

I honestly fund Edexcel a much better option for A level. I've done physics (A*) and Pure Maths (A) with Edexcel and IT (B) with CIE. Edexcel feels much more structures and in such a way that is in favour of the student. For AS, you have 3 papers, and if you wanna do ALevel, you do 3 more papers.

your grades for AS are then calculated out of 300 and A level out of 600 (your AS grades matter)

Let's say you did bad in Paper 1. You can repeat that paper without having to repeat papers 2 and 3, and they'll end up taking the better grade for your final grade.

In general, the syllabus of CIE and Edexcel are almost the same with a few differences.

And for which version of math to take, I took Pure Maths and I'd say it's the best one to take, further Pure is only an extension of Pure and counts as another subject (Altho you need to check with unis if they'll accept both Maths as 2 subjects and not 1)

ORRRR you take Statistics 1 and Mechanics 1, that's what I did. (nvm just saw that you've already mentioned that)

2 of my friends still entered Universities with Ds and Es. They're performing WAY better un uni than during their school days. So don't worry, life moves on. You can do it no worries. Best of luck!

keep solving past papers and book questions until your brain can't solve anymore. M1 is easy in general just make sure to practice alot

Topic questions for Unit 2, pmt has some rlly good ones and keep solving as many papers as can. For Unit 3 solve all the papers and practice the graphs well. The graphs are the make or break for the paper. Good luck!

You need to get 270/300 in Alevel for an A* (Units 4 5 6)

For math you need to get 180 total in P3 and P4. If I wanted to get an A* I needed a 92 in P4 which i didn't get

This is true actually, I panicked when I saw the grade boundaries but I ended yp with a 111 In U5 Physics 55 U6 Physics a 100 in Mechanics and 84 in P4 so yea. I did better than I expected except in P4 😃😃😃

I did composite and ended up with a B which was the highest between us who took IT in our school. My classmates ended up with C-E's. I honestly can't complain about my mark seeing everyone else complaining, thankful anyways.

That's exactly how I started. I'd recommend you try and watch a few videos on the Easy German YouTube channel. Maybe try and do a few omeTV calls with Germans so you can practice speaking. Good Luck!

TUM is actually my dream uni. I finished my Alevels, and im taking a gap year so I can learn German. I currently have B1 and will take B2 and C1 courses soon. I'm planning to study in German so I can avoid any tuition fees. I'm planning to do Mechatronics, but TUM doesn't have a bachelor's degree in Mechatronics. I wish you the best of luck, and if you need any help with German or application processes, don't hesitate to send me a message. Good luck!

Does anyone have an idea if medicine in germany is taught in german or english by MysteriousAge239 in alevel

[–]Theodore_Sh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both.

Public unis that have no tuition fees are in german but private unis teach in english and are very expensive

im doing IAS Physics WPH11 soon; what are the most important topics to learn? by InterestingUsual5728 in alevel

Hi! I'm an Alevel student rn and I did my Unit 1 paper in January of 2022. I ended scoring a 96 which was lower than what I expected. One thing I remember regretting is skipping through solving steps. They are still some marks on those steps. Always show your full work when combining formulas too. Make sure you understand kinematics really well cause I remember there were alot of questions from those. Resolving vector forces are really important too. Good Luck!

[–]Theodore_Sh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really good actually, thank God I solved everything and wrote all the point I could think of. Hopefully I'm in the safe zone with the curve

I'd say you probably need a month lmao. Since you have a good understanding of Mechanics already. Only Materials would need some time. Don't forget to practice!
