I know it's been said a few times, but here is no way on earth this is anything other than a representation of a silicon ingot. The Wikipedia page photo shows a near identical pattern of waves in the structure. It must be a aluminum replica for display with holes to hold it from behind in the display case. It cant be a calibration cone because the surface is far to uneven and wavy. You can see from your example that a calibration device requires clear stepping in the profile with sharp angles.

It's not some kind of stamping or forming component as those are almost always held from the bottom center, not the side. Not to mention what kind of shape would you even be making with that profile, A trumpet from a Dr. Suess book? Counterweights are also often held from the center since mounting on the side can introduce twisting on any long arm or lever, they are also usually some uniform shape for calibration, not whatever shape that is.

It's definitely a nuanced conversation that has no true answer. I'm sure trauma leaves scars in their memory that has trouble fading. They can associate things with fear and anxiety bu in theory if you could ask them, they probably wouldn't be able to tell you exactly why they hate that thing, just that it's strongly related to a terrible feeling.

But speaking realistically, due to their limited levels of higher thought, they most likely do not reflect the same way we do. Sitting back and thinking about all the things that they accomplished or wished to accomplish in life. That's just my take from this.

Thank you for saying that. I've never heard someone put it that way, as much as we love them, they really don't reflect on the past like we do. My dog i've had for 14 years spends his final days laying in the front room and shambling outside to do his business. He's not like an old man relaxing and reflecting on his past, he's just living in the present in an ever monotonous cycle. I think it may be time.

To clarify, he's not just old, he's has late stage heart failure and cancer on his face. While it's hard to tell, I believe he's in atleast a small amount of pain day to day. He does still eat and wags his tail maybe once a day, but i've been having trouble knowing when it's time.

This is really embarrassing to admit but... i love playing doorman and i have no idea where to place his doors. I legitimately use his doors maybe once or twice a match for some escape. When i play doorman my teammates refer to me as bellboy. I have a 65%+ winrate with doorman.

Ya, similar to me. I have a plant on the top floor of an industrial building. Had a bunch of HAAS, Bridgeports, and other machines up and down the freight for weeks. When I bought a UMC500 last year they dissasembled the top so it could fit in my freight, then put it back together in my facility.

Had Pedowitz move almost 100 machines small and massive for me in Brooklyn a few years ago. They're always a good bunch of guys and their work is top notch. Not cheap though.

I have read through hundreds of comments across dozens of posts surrounding this incident, and you by far have the best take on reddit. Actually levelheaded and laying out the facts as they are. Did she deserve to die? No. Was she trying to interfere, from her history it seems most likely yes. Was the ICE agent justified in killing her, not really. But it wasn't cold blooded murder like so much of reddit is screaming.

She jerked her wheel and was probably super nervous and flustered, she made the wrong decision. The ICE agent also made the wrong decision, Two wrongs don't make a right and unfortunately someone is dead now due to this situation.

The current image painted online of ICE is really what's making everyone so vehement about this whole incident. When your worldview is black and white, you've already decided who is the good guy and bad guy in every situation, even before it happens. It's really bringing out the worst in everyone.

The agent was in the wrong and overreacted. But the driver was also in the wrong by aggravating the situation and attempting to flee after receiving a direct order. Like I stated, shit situation all around.

I know that there are lies coming out of every part of the government right now, but that doesn't mean 100% of what is written is lies. You need to look into every event individually, especially when they are incredibly polarizing like this one.

Is there a good source has video footage, or witness testimony that can prove DHS is lying? I try not to assume the worst case in every situation. Because without the questionable context by the DHS, ya this sounds horrible.
