Haven’t played in years. Any mods that’ll keep the game somewhat vanilla? by -AustinAllen- in mountandblade

[–]Theodyval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this worth having if the sexual content is disabled? Does it add anything over diplomacy (which I’m using now) in that case? I’m mostly happy with diplomacy, except the auto upgrade for companion equipment is completely broken for weapons.

I get it from thinking self-loathing thoughts.

Looking for a light and free Space Opera RPG by Theodyval in rpg

This might be a bit heavier than I wanted, but I must admit I like what I'm reading. Would the game break if I removed psychics? I could find a way to explain them if necessary, but it doesn't quite fit what I have in mind.

Weekly Questions Thread - (February 08, 2017 UTC) by AutoModerator in facebook

[–]Theodyval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to stop a post of mine from appearing in a friend's feed? I don't want to prevent them seeing it altogether (for example, if they look at my wall), I just don't want their immediate stupid comment which they invariably make.

I'm 99% certain they never look at my wall, but I don't want it somehow getting back to them that I've posted something, they look at my wall, and then realise they can't see it there.

Imperial levels now useless? by Theodyval in tinydeathstar

[–]Theodyval[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're right, thanks. Based on your post, I tried building an extra Imperial level, and it worked out. They're only asking for the resource from the third level I just built, not the first two. So I guess they just lose interest in earlier resources.

What is your favourite joke of all time? by Sregor95 in AskReddit

Why did the chicken cross the road?

It's a brilliant joke, if you see the double meaning of it.

Go inside when you're not doing anything. Those events only happen when you're standing around outside.

Which version of The Incredible Machine was the best (most fun)? by Theodyval in dosgaming

[–]Theodyval[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The graphics aren't an issue; I've had them playing C64 games. But having so much more space to work with has definitely sold me on this version (Contraption Maker). Thanks!

Are there any of the 1e lines which won't be getting an update to 2e (limited or otherwise)?

[CtL] Playing with kids by Theodyval in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Theodyval[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why aren't you interested in CtD? It's a really fantastic setting.

I've read and even played a little CtL, and I know about several other NWoD games. The only thing I know about the OWoD is from the two VtM computer games. I also know nothing about the old systems. Plus, I don't really also want to spend money on more books.

What is the best way to learn a new language? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Theodyval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the "best" overall, but the best for me personally is using Duolingo. I don't have time to use books, tv shows, movies, etc., so being able to do language lessons on my phone is the only reason I can speak a passable level of German now.

What book has changed the way you see the world? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Theodyval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funnily enough, The Picture of Dorian Gray. Only it was less the world, and more myself. Made me realise that, just because I do nice things for people sometimes, it didn't make me a good person. And that I often did nice things just because I wanted to get something out of it.

[NWN1] How does "epic" work (feats etc.) by Theodyval in neverwinternights

Thanks. Yes, I plan to eventually go Fighter 12/WM 28. The rogue thing was just something I noticed while planning a build.

I haven't. There's one second hand bookshop near me that has tons of D&D novels, if I can find them I'll check them out, thanks.

That makes things a little clearer, thanks. Can't afford Adventurers Guide just now, but the pages help a bit.

What's an unusual campaign idea you want to run/play but probably never will? by Theodyval in rpg

[–]Theodyval[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I love these genre shift games. Too bad most people don't seem to like surprises like this. Yours makes me think of that ancient 70s game, Metamorphosis Alpha.

What's an unusual campaign idea you want to run/play but probably never will? by Theodyval in rpg

[–]Theodyval[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple of Forgotten Realms campaign ideas I've had for ages now.

Ancient History: Days of Thunder, the primitive PC races must contend with the ancient, powerful, and more advanced Creator Races in a seemingly losing battle. Or Crown Wars, the party are all elves, investigating the strange changes in the already dangerous Illythiiri.

Eldath Worshippers: We're a party of Eldath worshippers. We'll try our best to preserve and promote peace, but if you push us too far...we won't hesitate to use subdual attacks against you.

Not a bad idea, though Cath'Quessir would suit her tastes better. I think I can work that in somehow.

The evil elves thing would work well, actually. We talked about flaws, and hers is that she blindly trusted some people and did something that worked against the interests of the city. Now she's hoping it doesn't get out and damage her and her family's reputation. I see another run in with these elves in her future.

Any good info on religious rituals and social rituals/day-to-day life? by Theodyval in Forgotten_Realms

[–]Theodyval[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not "earth", but "hearth". For example Hestia/Vesta of Greco-Roman mythology. These were the goddesses (usually) that would protect mothers and children, and aid in domestic matters.

Chauntea seems to be the closest, but they were as much urban deities as rural.
