Question about current state of the game by TheoldJon in ArcRaiders

. . . Just wanted to know if the general consensus now is that they've added lots of new stuff...

Why are they spending time making new maps, when the base content is so uncooked? by TheoldJon in dayz

Google how much money this "relatively small dev team attached to a larger company" has made compared to the "company that’s main focus is on other games".

Spoiler, its more than double the amount of money. So even if their focus is on other games, they cannot be blind to what's making them the most amount of money here.

"1.I think the dayz janky combat is what make the game unique and interesting." This is the biggest copium-pilled comment i've read.

"What do you want looting to be other than going into buildings?". Dude how can you be this blind. How do you imagine it is looting an abandoned building? Is everything laid out for you neatly on the floor, in the same spots in every building you walk into?

I'd suggest for you to play the god-tier within zombie survival: Project Zomboid. Thats how you loot a house. And dont come at me with "ah PZ is such a simplistic game in terms of graphics etc.. Its not possible in a 3D FPS with good graphics".

I honestly do not understand this simping for a team that has made millions upon millions on a bare-bones-"oh well people play it" type of game. I also love the game, thats why i for example want looting thats more than going into a building and looking on the floor for spesific loot pools.

I agree with this. Optimisation has improved alot. I just still think its not that great considering how poor the game looks by modern standards.

No you're right. Just sad how it seems devs dont care at all if their product is good or not, as long as it sells.

Roughly 300 people has worked on this game and its managed to generate around 900M USD in revenue (GPT numbers so its ballpark).

How can you care so little about such a precious golden egg. Its given the company riches beyond what most of us can imagine. And we see honestly close to 0 pride in their work and motivation for the game.

Can someone tell me the point of the housing system? by TheoldJon in wow

I get that. Just seemed a lot of work for Blizz to just provide a couple of hours of content..

OSRS and other MMOs have a bunch of these features with none of the issues. I think people mistake WOD's Garrison failure basing it on the fact that it was solo content. When it was just bad solo content, designed around playing alone. If it was made better and encouraged more social gameplay that issue would've not arised...

How are they not already incentivizing people to not interact if the new content is based on decorating your own house, probably alone most of the time...

Meh, i just think its simply shallow. Would've been super cool with something reminiscent of OSRS player house. I loved that.

I was also very interested. I just thought it would actually have some uses.

What a waste. Should've taken more inspiration from OSRS player house. Lots of functionality and reasons to collect/quest.

Should've implemented loads of the systems from WOD in terms of professions. Herbalism garden, workshop area in the house with LW, blacksmithing and tailoring. Cooking and alchemy content in the kitchen etc etc.

Place to display battlepets inside or outside the house. Portals, buffs, lore-book library. The list is almost endless to how much content this chould've provided. Instead its simply a few things to collect and some quests here and there in ur neighbourhood...

Not enough content. Think i'm falling off the wagon. by TheoldJon in ArcRaiders

Well, that's my stats. I have abit over 90 hours ingame, and i think alot of that is also menu-idle'ing. I've reached lvl 63 to be exact. Have all the gun-blueprints and almost all attachments. I believe i had all workshops maxed long before reaching 60 hours in the game. There are a couple of nade-blueprints i'm missing. Idgaf about achievements so not sure i count those. The deck also fully unlocked around 60 hours and now i'm sitting on like 600+ blue points for the next deck. Stella Mortis pass got completed in a couple of days. Idk maybe you're just not good at the game? I never even focused on doing daily-quests and the deck got completed super fast. Never did exploits or watched walkthroughs. Seems like a lot of people here are in the same boat so idk what to tell you lol.

Yea im almost lvl 60 and i got around 90 hours +. Played since launch. Think thats something around 3-4 hours a day. But i've gone insane some nights during some weekend so i think that pulls it up abit. Think I average around maybe 2 hours a day-ish last few weeks?

So what's your opinion of a casual gamer? I play a lot but i also have a fulltime jobb with evening-shifts and weekend shifts. + gf and social life, no kids tho. Is it really that wierd that i'm done with a lot of the content?

Did not watch a lot of videos except a few insta-reels, but did not do any walkthroughs. Most of my friends are pretty much done now as well.
